The boot thread was so much fun - thanks for all of the wonderful pictures. One of the ideas was to start one for purses, so here goes. I have to share that when I pulled all these purses out for photographing I was surprised at the volume. I seem to have hoarded a few. I really only use 2, 10 and 12.
1. Nine West black purse/knapsack. Quite old and not used in many yrs

4. Fossil - new last year. Lovely bag but have trouble with the brown

Oh, I hate to even think how much work it will be to post mine! I did a brief survey and I have over 30. In my defense, I accessorize a lot with bags. And I tend to buy nice quality, leather bags in classic styles or styles with good longevity at least. I still have my first nice (leather) bag purchase: a Coach bag from the '80s. After tucking it away for a long time, it is now vintage and wearable again. I actually wore it last weekend!

Your purses look lovely. I'm especially smittened by your bright pink clutch!

I use the same one daily and switch out to a clutch once in a while for a night out. I realized a couple of years ago that I am not a bag lady. And that's okay.
I still own probably 6 or 7 purses but I actually use my purple Fossil crossbody and my pewter convertible clutch. The bottom two in this first pic.

I currently have 7 bags. Ironically I've only purchased one of them myself.

I used to have quite a few more bags (closer to 30) but over time I've passed them on. When I stopped switching daily with my outfits I purged many of my bags.

I love buying purses and work bags - I probably also have in the 20+ range, so I may come back and post this week's rotation. My bag doesn't always match perfectly, but it's usually pretty coordinated.

Here are my bags:
1. Black Liebeskind hobo, Black Tosca Blu satchel and red Charles Jourdan fold over tote
2. Purple Michael Kors satchel and green OH by Joy Gryson satchel
3. tote from Anthropologie and pewter BCBG Maxazria satchel
4. Clutches- Black studded Kenneth Cole, navy Pour la Victoire, black Nine West, pewter Michael Kors
5. Fabric bags for travel or errands- all are Baggalini. The green is my "boat purse"
6. More clutches- red Vince Camuto, leopard Antonio Melani and tan Sondra Roberts and a stingray small shoulder bag

Not shown- evening/occasion bags- I think I have 5 plus a few summer clutches- silver straw, a small cork and a white leather

Wow- I can do this one!

1). Five year old Eric Javets bag my DD made me buy. Love it, but mostly as pretty to look at own shelf in my office!

2) J Crew Edie bag, bought last year. Use this one and #3 daily

3) Coach bag in my favorite color used daily. Received as Hanukkah gift from DD's!

4) Just a no- name clutch bought last minute before charity function this year.

5). 15. YES 15 year old Bally purse. Gorgeous, but less useful once I became stay at home mom, and in Florida!

6) my next favorite color! 8 year old Adrienne Vittadini bag. Wish she still made bags...

7 and 8). Two bags from Boden, 3 years. Use the blue one a lot; carries laptop, I- pad, even change of clothes! Pink one, well, not so much. Color is not me. Maybe dye it?

Wow, everyone seems to have great selection of colors!

Here are a few of my current carries. I don't own a single black bag, and most all of my bags are colorful. I'm searching for the perfect black bag still.

1. a. The metallic Coach Crossbody is my go-to weekend bag.
b. This giant white Coach shoulder bag is also slightly metallic and was a
gift from my husband. I'm not a white bag person - and ruin everything,
so I find myself babying this bag. I don't like to baby bags!
2. Dooney Florentine Satchel - love, love, LOVE this bag so much - the color is a nice cognac and goes with everything.
3. Longchamp large tote - This is my rainy day work bag/shopping bag, travel bag.
4. Rebecca Minkoff MAC Clutch in Metallic Navy. The smallest bag I have, nice for short outings.
5. Saddleback Leather Large Satchel - I had to have this, it's been over a year and it's breaking in nicely. I wanted a cross body bag that was dressy enough for work, but could hold a lot. This is the perfect bag. It also converts to a full backpack, which has come in handy more that a few times.
6. Saddleback Leather small tote - this is my everyday bag, what I reach for most often. Open top, holds a ton and is indestructible - top qualities for a work bag.
7. Will Leather Liverpool tote - Had to have this when I saw it...red is my color! This one is good for loading up also. It's another of my work bags.

Sadly, I'm already planning for my next three bag purchases. I need a black Dooney (probably like #2) and tote like #6 in the color of #5 (the dark is dressier), and this bag...just because I love the colors. http://www.lyst.com/bags/will-.....te-cognac/

My goodness, look at all the great bags here!

This is my collection. I would like to add a few this year.

1. Danier textured leather tote (charcoal grey -- not a true black as it appears.)

2. Tiganello shopper (tote sized on me!)

3. Ralph Lauren cobalt shopper.

4. Burgundy vintage Coach crossbody. (I use it as a clutch mostly).

5. Gold clutch (vintage, from my mother.)

6. Bright pink Danier daytime clutch/ cross body. (Fun bag for summer).

7. Silver clutch (from my mother).

8. Danier black and white shoulder bag.

Hope it's ok to bump a 3 day old thread as I didn't have a chance to add to it last week

All of these are post-YLF and many were bought in the past year. I didn't include two gear bags by Tom Bihn (crossbody and shoulder bag).

1) Blue shoulder bag - rarely used but comes in handy sometimes.
2) Cognac crossbody - only used once - should purge since cognac isn't my color
3) Gold shoulder/hand bag: Summer workhorse
4) Green shoulder/crossbody: My go to non-fancy crossbody
5) Black shoulder bag: Can be dressed up or down
6) Longchamps tote: Very handy!
7) Red clutch: Also very useful
8) Purple crossbody/shoulder: Nice for when I want a large bag
9) Red shoulder bag: Another workhorse
10 Black/white clutch/shoulder/crossbody: This one is a little precious. The chain strap makes it a little harder to wear without fussing and it doesn't have the structure to be carried as a clutch easily.
11) Shiny minaudiere: Love the look, wish it were larger
12) Yellow crossbody/shoulder: Same as #8

I like that I have (almost) every color of the rainbow represented. Many of my bags are convertible to be carried in multiple ways, which is essential to me. I consider my bag collection complete, but I definitely could find space for:

a teal/blue/green bag(s)
a more useful minaudiere
a small brightly colored bag

Here's my collection except for a couple of small dress clutches. Some are old like the black snake clutch in 1. Some are expensive like the black Kooba cross body in 2. But many are thrifted or big sale items to learn what I like to use. I'd like a large metallic clutch and a larger tomato red bag. My most used are grey, silver or pewter.
