I wouldn't wear bright, vivid purple (not my color) but I do wear a deep burgundy wool coat that's to the knee during the winter, so maybe that sort of counts :)?

LOVE these examples although purple is not well represented in my closet.

I wouldn't wear it head to toe but I'd definitely like to add some more to my closet.

I love Eggplant and would cheerily wear a big dose of it. But I am not into suiting right now, so will content myself with the old eggplant velvet faux wrap dress that is in my holiday mix. Thanks for the reminder to dig it out!

Yes!!! I love purple!

I’ve worn purple/eggplant head to toe but currently don’t have any in my closet. I had a velvet blazer I wore over a wrap dress the same colour, as well as corduroys. I wore that jacket until the nap on the elbows wore off! I also had a purple leather jacket. I like purple and brown together.

Synne, love Prince! He was my first concert. Although I read that he liked orange over purple

I love seeing all the purple items! As a teenager, purple was my favorite color. My bedroom was purple and I wore a lot of purple, much to my mother’s distress. While I’ve moved away from a purple-centric wardrobe, my sole suit is plum-colored. I bought it from COS four or five years ago, and still love it. I also have plum-colored dress from All Saints that remains a favorite. However, my very favorite purple item is an amethyst ring from my one of my father’s great aunts that my parents gave to me when I was 16.

Purple is a good color on me and I like all the shades. As a matter of fact, I just styled my sister in a purple jacket for her son's bar mitvah - I was wearing purple's cousin burgundy.

I have tried to respond to this thread a couple of times - love seeing the purple/eggplant/lilac/mauve pieces and outfits. After years of black/white/grey/blush followed by earth tones, the jewel tones are due a revival...... Thanks to those who have shared their purple or related pieces in their wardrobe - and yes - the Duchess of Cambridge looks stunning.

They do look fresh and vibrant - especially in the trousers, jackets, pants - the tailored pieces.

I did wear true purple in the 80s and since then have had the odd thing - leaning to the periwinkle in the 90s, lilac with olive in the 2000s, and now I do have a couple of pieces in my gear capsule. And like Kate - I have an amethyst ring!

The burgundies, eggplants, plums are lovely and I think probably easier to wear for many people.

LOVE me a good purple!! I write it head to toe twice in my recent outfit post. I have a purple velvet jacket I will wear this week, and I am loving my lilac cardigan and my people Tweed suit!! Bring it on!

Oh I must check out your post Roxanna!!

Yes! I love this. Thanks for sharing these. And yes, I would wear purple head to toe. I just bought a pair of purple jeans

Purple in the mid to darker shades may be evident in some of these celebrity style photos, but it’s still really hard to find anything at retail. Just out of curiosity, I did a search on Nordstrom for shades of purple in tops, and pickings are very slim unless you want lilac/lavender.

Janet, that’s interesting. I expect offerings here and there to be similar, but I just opened up my favorite shopping app, Zalando, and did a search for purple. In the first 30 items, 8 were the darker colors, so between a quarter and a third. Idk if taking purple with me in a few weeks would be ahead of trends or just weird.

Interesting Janet - as a retailer I wonder if purple would feel risky - and certainly here I think they are playing it quite safe with colours this year. Which I understand.

StagF - you have and love the purple - I don’t think it is weird. But I know context can be everything when travelling. I felt off in Brisbane wearing black, and felt overdressed in Portland, Oregon - dress down was the vibe. Sometimes I want people to notice my clothes and other times I want to blend.
