Purely for O/T fun - team wine or tea?

I know we have a bevy of tea drinkers here, but I've heard the allusion to the occasional glass of wine from others, as well. I think it's pretty obvious where I stand Over to you - team wine or team tea? Any favorite varieties, or varietals, as the choice may be?
This evening will be Ecco Domani Pinot Grigio, but I am partial to Sauvignon Blancs from New Zealand's Marlborough region. Spied this one that has my name all over it (ha ha ha) that I can't wait to try next trip to the store.

Team WINE for sure I like a good Napa Merlot, an occasional Zin (red) and have recently begun to discover some nice Malbecs. I also enjoy some Spanish wines as well as Australian Shiraz.

Kim, merlot is my runner up, along with Pinot Noir. I tend to drink white in hot weather (read FL) and red when it's cool (read Tahoe). Of course, I pair with foods accordingly, as well. CHEERS!

I like both, but I start each day with at least one cup of tea before heading to work, usually bring along a travel mug so I can keep sipping tea throughout the morning, and have a small collection of loose-leaf tea at my desk too. I'm pretty sure my company would frown on my doing the same with wine! (I am, after all, in the HR department...)

That being said, to take your question a bit more seriously, I prefer wine over any other alcoholic beverage.

Generally my favorite wines tend to be syrah/shiraz or dry reds in general. (My parents prefer dry red wine, and my introduction to wine was when I was living with them, so that's more or less what I'm used to.)

I actually live quite nearby to some local wineries, and have been to a few tastings, but would like to do more so I can get to know more of the local varieties.

I bat for both teams, as I see them as such different drinks!

I'm Team Coffee in the morning (just a cup or two), and I'll often have a cup or two of tea in the afternoon. I don't drink soda, but I will drink unsweetened or lightly sweetened tea (yay for Honest Tea!).

I do enjoy a beer or wine with dinner or in the evening, depending on what I eat and my mood. Sometimes if we're out to eat I'll go for a mixed drink.

Thanks for playing along, ladies! Kari, I laughed at the picture of a mug of wine at work.
I guess since I'm such a rare tea drinker, and I drink it at night after a meal when I do drink it, that I sort of equate both beverages with unwinding. Guess I failed to see the am tea drinking phenomenon - oops! Feel free to bat for both teams if one is your am treat (I'm hoping wine isn't the am choice for most of us!!). Oh wait, I do drink a mimosa now and again with a Sunday brunch . . . @@

Health concerns forced me off team coffee, and I was on Team Water for a while. This week, I happilly joined Team Tea now that I've found great caffeine free simulations of coffee and Thai iced tea.

Other than that, I'm Team Beer or Coconut Vodka.

Team wine! I like Syrahs, but have really gotten into blended reds. Kari, Walla Walla makes some great Syrahs.

If I HAD to choose only one I would go for wine.

My partner and I are both lacking some enzyme for metabolizing alcohol and between us can't finish a bottle of wine without both getting very drunk. How sad is that? We sacrificed many a bottle of pinot grigio and gewurztraminer figuring this out. I find rum is less slur inducing so have a glass of Anejo or spiced rum with coke on occasion.

My drink of choice is tea. I love my teas and have two small cupboards that have shelves dedicated to both bags and loose tea.

Kari - if you are looking for a winery tour partner, keep me in mind I've been wanting to do some tastings at those places almost in our back yard since we moved up here.

I'm definitely Team Tea. You can pretty much guarantee me offering you a cup if you stop by my house. But I do enjoy a glass of merlot with dinner now and then, especially if we are having dinner guests. But if I can only choose one....Yay Team Tea!!!!

I don't even need to think about that one: Team Tea because I don't drink alcohol. I'm not against it, just never liked the taste (beer, wine, the stronger stuff...).

I have to sit on the bench for this one, because those are my two favourite beverages!

I do drink one cup of coffee in the morning. Tea/green tea/ white tea/herbal tea in the afternoon and evening. Wine with my meal a couple of nights a week. And at celebrations, too!

Since I'm now decaf everything it has changed things a bit since there aren't a lot of great decafs out there.

Rae - what is your decaf coffee that you like? I like a really strong, smokey coffee...

I'm usually an Australia oaked chardonnay wine person (guess what we drank at home when I grew up) but my son just brought home a bottle of Liberty School Cabernet Sauvignon (USA) that was amazing beyond belief.

I took a bunch of sommelier courses with a girlfriend many years ago and both our families went on a winery tour vacation (Niagara) that was so much fun.

Oooh! Good questions - Team Tea for me, based on quantity. Love, love, love peppermint tea and had 3 mugs of it today alone.

I also love wine! I cannot stand beer (I never mention that in my home state of Wisconsin) but like vodka. Rae, I have to try coconut! What do you mix with coconut vodka? Do tell!

WINE. I do like tea, don't get me wrong, but vino it is. We primarily drink Italian reds--they are so versatile and delicious, and work well with our Mediterranean diet.

Team Tea as I can no longer drink anything with carbs. I used to like a glass of wine with a meal when we went out and liked both reds and whites if they were not sweet.
I've recently discovered chai tea but like everything from the smoke-infused black teas to fruity white teas and all in between.

Team wine all the way! We are big Pinot Noir fans and have been accumilating quite a cellar from all the wine clubs we belong to.

Hwever,I do love my Sweet and Spicey tea on a cold day or evening.

Can there be a team coffee?

Between tea and wine, I'm team wine all the way -- I have a glass most nights, usually shiraz or malbec -- but I drink a lot more coffee than wine. I quite like tea as well, but it has to be proper English black tea and not any of the herbal ones that smell so promising but taste like wet potpourri.

I love white wine (red, too, but it tends to give me a massive headache) - and the Niagara region of Canada makes some amazing wines, but I'm on Team Tea for sure! Love all kinds of flavoured, spicy teas like Bengal Spice and cinammon for pure pleasure on winter nights, and herbal teas for health reasons (especially green!)
