Have you made any? What were they?

I have made several and there is one poster in particular whose style is pretty different from mine BUT I have twinned a few of her items.

Items that I saw on YLF and decided to incorporate:

Halogen seamed pencil skirt (green, not the lovely raisin)
Allsaints hitch dress (Una twin and one other poster whose name I forgot)
Knee-high lace up boots. I'd wanted them for a while, YLF pushed me over the edge
Target chambray shirt
Target blue print faux wrap dress
Multi-strand belt from Target
Gap drape-neck t's

That's all I can think of.

Well, Angie's list of NAS picks was what first inspired me to start updating my wardrobe! So I guess pretty much everything that's new is a result of YLF. But in particular: The B Makowsky Heist leopard pumps that Angie recommended! And the Helene Berman camel cape. And Paige Hidden Hills and Gap Long and Lean jeans.

Oh my gosh, Andrea, I don't even know if I can list them all, to be honest. Here are some workhorses that I know I bought specifically after seeing them featured on YLF.

Rockport Ainly boots (not featured by Angie, but Tara (Tarzy) suggested them to me)
2 Nine West dresses - the "fan print"/butterfly dress that many of us got a year or so ago, and then the most recent scribble print faux-wrap dress featured on Angie's blog post a few weeks ago

Anything that exists in my closet today, 95% of them have been post-YLF purchases So I guess, it's probably easier for me to think of things that are not YLF!

Non YLF:
- Black wool trench coat
- Dark wash jean jacket
- Black doc marten boots
- Tall black leather Clarks dress boots
- Fossil watch

That's about it

I think Kari might have me beat, but a LARGE percentage of my wardrobe is probably directly due to YLF. Could be an Angie pick, or because of another member.

I have dresses, skirts, pants, jeans, sweaters, shirts, tops, shoes, boots, sandals, jewelry, scarves, and coats that I can attribute to YLF (and I've been here almost two years).

The only category that might have escaped would handbags. I don't think I have a specific handbag as a result of YLF. (Just YLF-inspired colors and shapes.)

I don't live in the US, so a lot of my YLF inspired purchases have been equivalent brands. I have ordered Nordstrom camisoles, halogen cardis directly from YLF recommendations, and I bought my lovely trench from Inge in Belgium, who ordered it from Nordstrom:

The list has gotten so long, that it comprises most of my wardrobe, either because of Angie's suggestions or forum member posts.

I live in Belgium, so many of the brands cited on YLF aren't available here, but all of your fabulous inspiration led me to muster up the courage to try on OTK boots until i found an awesome cognac pair that fit me
And Angie's take on Zara and H&M collections turned me onto two Zara skirts and a blazer from H&M.
I can see more stuff working together in my closet right now and that makes me happy!

I am trying to think if there is anything in particular which I got because somebody modeled it on YLF forum ...nothing comes to mind. As I live in Canada it is hard get online orders from US - shipping and customs duties are so expensive! Wait, I remember one thing - red UO jeans I risked to order after seeing them on Jonesy and Kyle. Oh, and white denim jacket from Old Navy which Kim bought.
The rest was bought because of Angie's picks and blog posts:
- Gap leans;
- BR Martin skinnies;
- Halogen pencil skirts;
- Born Lovely flats;
- Fitzwell leopard pumps;
- Fidji brand;
- Hinge Chanel-esque jacket;
- Paige Hidden Hills jeans;
- Halogen BF cardigans
- Trouve flat oxfords and shrunken blazer.
However as Kari I have replaced about 85% of my wardrobe since joining YLF and it all was influenced here even if no those particular brands and items.

And what a great thread!

I am fairly new and still building a wardrobe. And I'm in Canada, so I can't always purchase the same brand; it's more the idea that I'm getting from here. Purchases directly resulting from YLF include:

Gap Long and Lean jeans
A denim jacket (found a keeper the other day....YES!!)
A raspberry corduroy denim style cropped jacket
Low heeled Oxfords (thrifted...but I would never have seen their possibilities if it hadn't been for YLF)
Some accessories: earrings, several necklaces—nothing special, but the extra touches needed to complete an outfit
A snake print scarf
And a new haircut.

This doesn't count YLF approved purchases that I might have had the wit to make on my own but were probably refined by the collective YLF instruction!

I picked up the BR Martin skinnies while I was still lurking around here because everyone on the forum seemed to look good in them, and Angie loved them too.

More recently, I bought the Boutique 9 nude flat laceless oxfords because Angie had mentioned them in a blog post and then I saw Crazyone wearing them here on the forum.

Karen Kane handkerchief hem dress (an Angie pick-- I wore Friday night)
another Karen Kane dress (An Angie pick and upon not finding it in my size I bought it from Jenny who was going to return hers)

Just wanted to add a question - do you all find that when you buy things after seeing them here (especially as worn by other YLF members), you have a greater success rate than with purchases made just browsing online or in store? I think that especially with online purchases, the YLF-inspired items do not get returned as often and get worn more and in different combinations because I already have good styling ideas from seeing others' photos. This is a really valuable part of the YLF experience for me.

Yes, often that is the case. I have some things that I LOVE and wouldn't have given them a second look if it hadn't been showcased here.
BUT I have also learned that I have to be careful not to let peer pressure blind me. When an item is getting alot of love around here, it's easy to want to join the party and not always see it completely objectively on myself. I have made that mistake a couple times of wanting to look "just like Angie" or someone else and an item just doesn't work for me.

I also have to remember that even when I post a "keep or return" you all aren't seeing it IRL and you're not seeing it in 3D, so if I'm having doubts, I have to be careful not to keep it *solely* on your all's thumbs up. It could be that the fabric is sub-par and you all can't really discern that through pics only. Does that make sense?

For me, it's more a trend I will try, not an actual item. Maybe just my skinny black J Brands are something that, brand for brand, I've picked up on recommendation. Otherwise, it's more generalized - a flyaway cardi or cage heeled sandals or cognac boots. I'm more interested in finding a really good deal than having a certain exact brand someone else has worn here!

Interesting to note, shopping at AT and Nordstrom, stores I used to avoid and now are my "go to" stores

Queen Mum, yes, that totally makes sense. I try to keep the "peer pressure" in mind, too, and make sure something would be appropriate for my lifestyle etc. Otherwise it is easy to be lured by the wonderful looks that others have put together for their body shape/style.

Skinny jeans, boots and cropped denim jackets have become important to my wardrobe as a result of YLF. I also have found that the store is a fantastic and valuable resource. You really can't go wrong with an Angie-endorsed item, and I have more than a few.

I would say
skinny jeans!!! I don't know if I would have even thought I could pull them off without YLF and all the way the ladies here style them to give me a clue!

As far as specific items, I think it's only the red espadrille wedges from Target that I believe I first saw on someone's WIW. There's been /tons/ of more general inspirations and things along that line. I agree with QM that you have to be careful and not get 'over-inspired' in the sense that I've tried on some things I've loved on others, but they just don't work on me. It's easy to get caught up in everyone's enthusiasm.

I still don't know how to post a picture (I know!) but today I wore the dress I got through the YLF store...it's blue, sleeveless with a full skirt. I felt so good in it! It's still hot here so I was okay in a cotton dress. YLF has changed my eye, therefore my shopping, so much. Thanks to all!

I would say Gap skinny black pants and BR Martin pants, off the top of my head. Overall, the introduction to Nordstrom and the Rack have been the biggest changes via YLF. I did shop at those stores before, but never very often.
