Puppy “porch potty”

In the post on welcoming Jo (sooooo adorable!), Angie mentions a balcony "porch potty." We're welcoming a Havanese puppy into our home next month and a porch potty sounds like a great idea, as we have a deck but no backyard. Any ideas on which ones are good? I did an Internet search but the results were mixed. Thanks so much!!!

YAY! A puppy! Exciting

Yes! We went with the original by Porch Potty, and have fresh sod delivered. It's pricey, but the best. And looks decent too. We live in a loft in downtown Seattle.

We have the Porch Potty Standard, and Jo uses it like a champion! She started using it at 9 weeks - when we brought her home - and turns 12 weeks tomorrow.

His Lordship Sam, however, refuses. He demands his walks 4 times a day.

Soo... I’ve found the puppy pads and puppy potties a little bit small. Dogs need room to spin around a couple times. I put down TWO puppy pads for Lilypup. I never had success with the fake grass ones... the pad and rubber tray was what worked. Not that my experience is vast... I’ve only trained two dogs on them.

Ps: one of the dogs was a 6-week puppy I fostered; the other being Lilypup, a rescue, she was perhaps a year. Lily only uses it at night... when it rains. Otherwise, she expects to be let out!

This is all so helpful, Angie and rachylou - much appreciated!!! The pic of the baby Yoda toy made me chuckle - my kiddos have a baby Yoda toy that looks very similar. They're super excited for puppy to arrive. Now we'll be prepared for potty training

It's a special time that requires a LOT of patience

We use pee pee pads too. Pups have very small bladders!

Our little guy had spinal surgery years ago, and had to be carried in and out. We bought a strip of lawn turf at Home Depot very inexpensively, and he accepted it easily as his potty place.
