Pumps questions

I need some new dressy/business appropriate closed toe black pumps that are walkable (so, 1-2.5" heel, soft leather, ankle strap or slingback, not bunion crushing). My old kitten heel sling backs are beat up and dated, but comfy.

Here's a couple I was looking at, and questions.

in black. Look at the top view. Is the toe shape ugly or dated, and are they generally frumpy?

Is there a name for this half bootie, half pump style? These are too tall for me but I'd love to find some similar ones with a 1-2.5" heel. Suggestions welcome!

How do you feel about suede at work? I know at my work a few girls do it, but they spend all day fussing about their suede I think a regular leather or even a patent holds up better at work.

Lyn, I wouldn't be wearing these to work, like, ever. I would wear these *maybe* for an interview or something (but with trousers I'd just wear boots because more comfy) and to winter cocktail parties, businessy events (for J's work), etc. I need comfy shoes for interviews (all day) and cocktail parties (3+ hours of standing! Have learned my lesson there) but they don't need to be day to day durable. If its super wet I'd wear booties anyway.

Eta: suede is soft. My feet like that. Plain leather is ok too. I am afraid of patent because it tends to bite and doesn't stretch!

Ah, I read this as business/dressy as for work :p

I dunno, they don't really read cocktail party for me. I think the black looks better than the nude colour, though - especially from the top view. I think the second pair (or something like the second pair) would be more versatile for the events you are thinking of

These are still both ankle strap pumps to my eye, Diana. I love the first style. It's stunning and I want a pair too. The second pair looks too high for you.

I looove the first pair, they look super stylish and comfy an I like both colours. The second pair don't look as comfy to my eye, height and the shape of the toe would kill my feet in no time at all.......

Thanks, guys, maybe the first pair is worth a try after all.
I know the second is too high, I was just hoping someone had seen similar with a lower heel. I really love that diagonal swoop from the cuff. I can handle pointier toes better if it's a bootie style because then I can size up without worrying about the shoe fakling off Hoping the cuff on this type of style is substantial enough to be able to do that.

I actually prefer the wider cuffs on the Nine West for myself as I think it's more proportional and as I've mentioned elsewhere, I like some visual weight on my feet.

I really like the first ones. They look refined, and I can see them working very nicely for your interviews and parties.
I've heard the term "shoetie" before, so that may be what the second pair is. It doesn't work too well as a search term, though.

It might be worthwhile trying on some Anyi Lus. I splurged for a pair, for the one pair of black pumps I will wear when I need pumps, and they are sooo comfy despite the heel. I love the versatility of the Sophia and Stacy style, but it didn't fit my foot as well as the one I bought (which isn't a current style). You can wear the strap different ways, or remove it entirely:

Diana, I love the first pair for you. I am fan of suede. There is something very tasteful and luxurious about it. And i love the style of the pump here. Not frumpy at all, interesting, elegant with a hint of edge all at the same time.
