What does everybody think about wearing black leather trainer pumps with check tapered trousers?

Work in Office, smart casual dress code, have worn both trousers previously with loafer shoes.
But at the age of 42, my feet are starting to feel the autumn cold, was thinking about trainer pumps so I could wear sock liners to keep my feet warm.
