I bought a pair of knee high Chloe boots back in 2003 and after several wearings, they did start to hurt my feet. It was shortly after this that I got a customer satisfaction call from a Chloe asking me how I liked the boots. When I told them about my problem, they booked me an appointment with an excellent cobbler the next time I was going to be in NYC. It was a few months before I was going back that way again, but when I showed up, he examined the boots, and my feet, made a few alterations to the insole, outsole, heel, etc., and that fixed the problem. He told me at the time that he knew customers who needed custom insoles made and that Chloe picked up the tab.
In most cases, unless the footwear is poorly made, a few alterations can often fix whatever problem is causing your foot or feet to hurt. We all have one leg longer than the other, and one foot bigger than the other. Barefoot or with minimal heel we adapt quite easily, but add a 4 inch heel and you need everything spot on. I now know what has to be done to the left heel and the right foot bed of pretty near all my boots. Ever since that first alteration in NYC, I've been able to run in all my high heel boots. That's how effective needed alterations can be.
So, if you can run in your 4 inch heels, just imagine what they will do for the look and sway of your butt and hips when everything is in balance.
So, the purpose of this long treatise is to say don't junk them right away; ask an expert if anything can be done. Maybe they can be fixed, or maybe you'll be told to bin them. Either way, you won't know until you ask..
Cheers
Julie
