Pulling a SYC fast one - or which skirt?

I am on a take-in-no-more-stuff mission until we move this fall sometime. But certainly I can exchange and update, right? It's the same amount to pack And I have a balance in my paypal account from a return that is fair game.
It's okay, you can tell me if I'm being sneaky and just trying to cheat myself!

At issue is my white linen skirt that's a tad long/big and okay but not special to be sure (pic 1). I have two possible contenders for replacement. Both have zippers (shock! lol) but one is quite high waisted and structured while the other is a low waist, flowy viscose number. I can't say I really have any high waisted items but I LOVE the look of this skirt (pic 2). But I wonder if I can make the high waist really work for me. I feel like the flowy skirt (pic 3) is more in line with the one I am replacing but don't totally love it at first sight like the cotton one. EDIT: this model is much bigger than I, it would be a low waist on me and not a miniskirt in length either!

Should I just cool my jets and leave this all alone, or try a new high waist for a change, or go with the updated flowy version that's easier to work into my closet right now?

I agree with crazyone. I like the one you have much better. You look beautiful in the photo (#1). Of course, we all have different tastes and styles, but from the photos I've seen of you (and the fact that I got one of your cast-off dresses, which I love!), we have a similar sense of style and similar body shapes. The skirts in #2 and #3 would look good on you (esp. if #3 is longer), but I love the streamlined look in #1. It accentuates your nice hourglass shape.

In regards to your justification to purchase I don't think it's sneaky, but clever so no worries. I don't think the 2 replacements are technically replacing skirt #1 (which I also like the best). I like #2, can you return if they don't work?

Thanks C1 and Debbie! I guess it just doesn't sing to me like the others . . . but I've been known to be wooed by a zipper or two

(Glad you are enjoying the dress! I was sad that it was too big for me. That's a perfect example of getting sized out - it was xs, the smallest available!)

Jjsloane, I can return the flowy one but not the high waist. I find it interesting that so far everyone likes my old linen one best! Hmm, maybe I do need to just cool my jets for a bit lol!

Another vote for the original skirt -- it's a classic number that will prove to be very versatile. The other 2 skirts are cute but will date quickly. Of those 2, I prefer #2 -- #3 can be a little "hoochie" if not styled very carefully. The closer to the body shape of #2 is more preferable to the looser and shorter style of #3. BUT I agree with the others that you should keep #1 instead. Sorry -- probably not what you wanted to hear (read).

I'm not crazy about 3 either. I love zippers too, but the black is very stark against the floaty white layers, and the length seems quite short.

I like #2 but it is so much more structured than your current skirt that I also wonder about whether it's a true replacement.

I know how much fun it is to get new things, and God knows, I love me some retail therapy from time to time, but I have to agree with the others, the first one is gorgeous on you.

Anything else you think needs replacing that you can use the credit towards?

I'm also loving #1 best. What about shortening it to just above your knee cap? You have such great legs and I know you rock those short skirts. Maybe a bit shorter would give it a fresh feel for the next year or so? (I don't know if that's it's lining or a slip in the pic, but shortening it to within an inch or less of where that ends. . . ?)

all three are very nice skirts but i mostly like #2!!

Second the suggestion to hem the one you have, and a note that, to me, #2 looks like it would be too hot to wear on very hot days.

Count me in with the folks who thinks the one you have is far the best.
It doesn't look "too" anything to me, either.

I like #1, too - at its current midi length. Sorry.

You wise ladies have convinced me to stick with my tried and true skirt I already own. Now, MJP brings up a good point - what else do I need to replace instead?

Your current skirt is beautiful. Love number two but it is not a replacement as it has such a different vibe. Hang in there.
