I've been eyeing these fur-lined high tops for awhile, but the stock seemed limited on Amazon and Nordstrom. I went right to Converse site and scored them on sale plus a 15% coupon for signing up with them. They have more colors and sizes available and the best price I could find. I went for the fun babies in my finds below. I restrained myself from more.

I haven’t posted them yet, as I haven’t committed to them, but I checked back on stock in these and found a pair, so I ordered them. I was unsure about how they looked on me (I was also having a really, really bad day so nothing looked or felt right), but my husband loved them, so I’m probably going to keep. They seem quite comfortable and are a fun change of pace from my many pairs of boots. Lined Cons FTW!

Lots of love for these! I know Angie loves them (which is what got me interested) I specifically targeted a different color (and yes Inge the laces were the icing on the cake for me). Can't wait to wear them!

I just saw these in person for the first time today - at DSW - and they are 100 times better looking IRL than in stock photos. So cute. If I at all needed them and/or if they had a side zip entry, I'd have bought them. The lacing up part is too high a fuss-factor for me.

Good point lisa, in a no-shoes-in-the-house culture/climate converse high tops are a real pain (not just the lacing but getting them on and off). I was tempted there for a minute...

Well I’m tempted again! I went to a ska/punk show last night and one of the dancing fools was wearing super cute brown leather high tops. These are as close as I can find, I have some birthday money burning a hole in my pocket, and it’s been a dry winter so far making these sorta practical?
What I’m wondering is sizing, since they don’t have free returns and Canadian shipping is crazy. Do people get their normal canvas converse size in these or should I size up half a size to account for the fleece and socks?

Anybody? I saw that Angie said they run true to size so I guess my dilemma is my usual, I can be either an 8 or 8.5. I guess the 8.5 is the safer choice and I can always put in an insole.

If you're usually an 8 or 8.5, I would probably go with the 8.5, Jules. That way you can fit in a thicker sock if you need to and/or add an insole.

I'm gonna disagree...

I normally wear a 9, rarely an 8.5 (these days), or an EU40. In these, I got the 8.5/EU39.5. So I would recommend the 8.

And I got mine from Converse.ca with free shipping... isn't it free now? Maybe that was a Christmas deal?

I have to say they run a bit large too. That said, I have a relatively low volume foot. I got my normal size, and I'd be swimming in them if I didn't need room for arch support insoles.

You are correct about the free shipping, Elizabeth. I didn’t word it well but it’s the possible return I’m trying to avoid. I once paid $20-30 to return a $70 blazer within Canada. I understand not every business has the free returns model, but it’d be nice if they negotiated a reasonable flat fee for their customers like Land’s End has. The walk-in Canada Post pricing can be quite blindsiding and even somewhat arbitrary. My poor kid once spent $15 bucks or so to send her friend a small present of jewellery at camp. I realized if I’d been there to help negotiate/ask questions it would have been fine in a flat fee envelope at a much cheaper price.
