Thanks everyone. I hope this provided some fall inspiration or possibly temptation for some people. Mmmmm velvet.

YOOX definitely requires some patience. I think of it as like a huge seconds/samples/discount store. I just need to allow a bit of quiet time to rummage through it. But I’ve got some great and unique things there at amazing prices. Like my Brunello Cucinello skirt and, more recently, some teal velvet flares.

I am pondering whether I can wear my teal velvet flares with the teal jacket. They are not a set but I think close enough. I want to be draped in velvet, like George Constanza

Talk about a perfect fit and color! The jacket fits so seamlessly into your style it is like you have had it all along. Totally get the treasure hunt aspect of Yoox. That is me in a thrift store .
Let's see the teal suit!

I like YOOX too, even though not being able to exchange for a different size can be frustrating. Their search filters seem pretty good to me, though I wish they’d add sustainability claims. I’d really like to see any site put up a “not” option so, for example, I could search for sandals and not have to deal with things between the toes.

It’s been interesting to watch this conversation in parallel with Runcarla’s thread about how we decide how much money to spend on what. I’d be willing to spend this much money and maybe a bit more for the coatigan/long cardi/swacket/shawl collar blazer I want, if I find the perfect thing. The materials will have to be as good as it sounds like this cotton velvet is (thanks for the search tip) and fit me and my wardrobe as wonderfully as this does you. Thanks for posting about it.

I never would have guessed that George Costanza is one of your style icons :)!

The jacket is a gorgeous color and fit--what a beautiful piece for your wardrobe! I say yes to combining with the teal velvet pants!

Yoox can be sort of draining but also fun. I agree with how you frame it as a sort of high-end rummage sale. Patience, patience, patience, score, patience, patience...

It’s beautiful! Man, if I didn’t already have a teal velvet suit…
