So I revisited the Rakuten website, and remembered that there are two ways to use Rakuten: You can install it on your browser and it automatically scans any retail site you're shopping, etc. or you can go to their website, and click the online store you want to shop. (In this case, Stuart Weitzman)
I remember now that there are two reasons Rakuten made me wary: 1) If you install it as an extension on your Chrome Browser, based on Chrome's wording, you're giving Rakuten access pretty much to whatever you use Chrome for. At least, that's my perception and understanding.
2) I also got a bazillion emails from them when I originally signed up. I logged in on their website, and it immediately emailed me. LOL.
My mom doesn't have it installed on her Chrome browser. She shops through their website. Black Friday weekend, she found a Patricia Nash purse on the Macy's website that she really liked. It was $198, marked down to $99 for Black Friday sales. She had a 20% Macy's coupon, which brought it down to around $79, and then Rakuten gave her $10 back.
So all in all, she paid $69 for a bag that was $198 prior to Thanksgiving Weekend.
Y'all, this is honest-to-god why I dislike shopping retail. LOL. I always feel like I'm being taken for a sucker.
