PSA: Old Navy has really cute summer tees!

A friend is traveling to Africa to teach for a year and wanted some new short sleeve tees and dresses. We went to Old Navy and were pleasantly surprised. They have three tee fits now: fitted, relaxed and BF. The BF fit is oversized and drapy, very much up my alley. But the relaxed fit is also terrific! Not clingy in the midsection and a variety of lengths and cuts, including some longer swingy styles as well as more classic. I ended up buying several (so so hard for me to find tees that fit) and with a 40% off sale, it was a total bargain. Much better choices than the Gap or our ghetto F21. I haven't been into an Old Navy in a few years - but recent posts and comments here on YLF have made me think I should revisit it . I certainly can use some fun t's for summer that don't cost much . I think I'm on a new austerity plan Thanks for the nudge !

Thanks for the PSA. I bought a navy cotton cargo jacket there a few years ago and it is still in heavy rotation (once it warms up). I was in Old Navy last week with my DDs but was just there for my wallet :). I will need to go and have a look at the tshirt as I could really use a few new ones. My DDs found some excellent workout wear!

Ooh I'll have to go check them out. I definitely need a couple of new basic black tees as my existing ones have shrunk just enough to that annoying point where they're just sliiiiightly too short and tight at the belly so they look fine when I put them on but then try to roll up all day.

Do you happen to remember the fabric content? IMO 100% cotton or cotton/modal are best - I find spandex leads to clinging/riding and poly is too sweaty.

I have to admit I hate the in store ON experience - the store design and layout are very unappealing to me, plus all the loud teenagers.... so i haven't shopped there for ages although I pick up an odd piece or two online sometimes (like our snake dress!)

Alaska girl is spot on.
I bought these two on Saturday they look much better IRL than in the finds the color looks kind of heathered or textured. This year my t shirts are tight around my mid section and I need a few new ones to tide me over. I am trying to change my diet to feel better and get rid of the bloat so an ON quick fix works for me and you cannot beat the prices.

You know, my favorite t-shirt right now was from Old Navy maybe 5 or 6 years ago. It's held up brilliantly. I haven't had as much luck with quality from them recently, but they do have a history of doing t-shirts right.

Diana, my friend was also looking for cotton. I think there were a variety and some definitely all cotton or linen blends which were lovely and not too thin!

I am looking forward to wearing mine it is very comfortable. Cold and windy in PA today so definitely not today ! I will be going back over to look some more, I was rushed on Saturday and it was packed as the store was 40% off.

Gail - those are cute! Ok - you guys have convinced me to go into an Old Navy , asap! I agree with Linda above - GAP t's have been uninteresting at best this spring.

Avoid the ones with some non-natural materials, I've found they can pill pretty quick. But yes, Old Navy on sale/clearance (and on discount days and with Old Navy cash) can be very, very affordable.
