PSA: metallic paisley biker jacket

I ordered this Helene Berman jacket from ASOS. It seemed like such a fun and unique piece and it was half price so I couldn't resist. I am returning it but I thought I would post some pics in case anyone else is interested.

It is very lightweight and lined. Suitable for warmer weather as long as you don't mind poly. Very shiny and maximal!

The fit is off for me. I took my regular size but it is a little tight across the shoulders and in the upper arms. You can see it in the back photo. It will work better on someone with narrow shoulders. Otherwise, size up.

Kind of glad it wasn't right for me because I am trying not to add more silver and pale grey to my wardrobe. It's not my best colour but I am very attracted to it!

But I am going to keep the dark grey turtleneck that I am wearing in the pics.

Also, in my peregrinations around ASOS, I found a rather yummy striped Helene Berman jacket (in Finds), which is not as maximal and looks like it might make a nice spring jacket for someone here.

I do like the jacket, the paisley print is so interesting, but have to agree that the colour is not really your best and I can see the fit issues from the back. When I think of that outfit with your new burgundy leather jacket, it would look much nicer than the pale grey. It is always good to try these things though, just to be sure. The sleeveless turtleneck looks fantastic on you.

Bijou, I did think maybe with a burgundy turtleneck, but that would be pretty limiting. Now, if the jacket were bronze, that would be a different story.

Brooklyn, you are absolutely the queen of finding those fitted sleeveless tops. AMAZING. How is the sizing? An 8 is the smallest available which is larger than I would normally order. Wonder if it might work, given the style?

As for the jackets, not exactly my style but they are both beautiful.

Hi Viva, I think you are talking US 8, which is equivalent to an AU 12. I got that size. My normal size is AU 10/US 6, so I did size up. Because it's fitted, I quite like to size up in that sort of style. I am happy with the fit. Might be worth a try

Well, you look great in anything, but I agree that the fit and color are a bit off. On to the next one! The top is perfect, and that striped jacket looks like it would work great for you. Thanks for sharing this look.

I'm like you; I'm attracted to greys, but it's not a good color near my face. Dang it!

Those colors are my favorite! The jacket is great, but I hate that tightness across the shoulders and back, too. Oh well.
