PSA LOFT sizing has changed

just thought I'd let you ladies know that some of the items (skirts / dresses) at ATL have changed sizing............. eeeek
I know lots of you order on-line and would be very disappointed if you ordered your regular size.

Today I went in to try a new dress on. I had to get a 14 because of my hips. I can usually waer a size 10 or 12 in their dresses.
Same thing on a few new style pencil skirts........ 12 would not even zip.

Pants seemed to remain the same sizing.
The ATL associates have said this past few weeks lots of people have been complaining about their regular sizes no longer fitting.

Ha - wouldn't you know it, today I finally caved and ordered the sweater you and Lisa have. I tried to cover my bases by getting one color in a small and one in an xs so that I will hopefully end up with one sweater that fits. It may be charcoal or it may be the dusty mauve you have. I'm so sick of returning ill fitting orders I figured this way I should end up with at least one item that fits (fingers crossed). I wonder why they would change their sizing without making an announcement or alerting customers somehow? Did the size charts change accordingly?

you should be fine with the sweater purchase. I only noticed it with dresses and skirts. I'm so bad about not checking the size charts and just ordering what sizes I know works.

so I had to order this dress because the only 14 in the store had a broken zipper... probably due to someone needing a 16 trying it on...........lol

Good to know! Although I've yet to get anything at Loft that fits--well, except for a scarf.

I did just buy a sweater there 2 weeks ago and had to size up. The arms felt very tight. I second what QM said!

As frustrating as having to size up will be for some of us and our egos, this size change will be great for the many women out there who are truly tiny. I am 5'3" and 110 pounds, and I have been shocked when the size 2s at loft have been TOO BIG for me. I'm not a 0, but I have some loft clothes that say otherwise. There are women who can't find clothes that are small enough to fit them, and have to settle for buying 00s and getting them altered to fit right, which I can imagine is very frustrating. Granted, this move might make it harder for larger women to find clothes that fit, and so it seems that loft should add sizes larger than 16 or 18.

hmmm, perhaps Loft has found that their clientele is in the smaller rather than larger range and adjusted accordingly

I'm ok with what the label says, buying a bigger size doesn't bother me. I just like stuff to fit. I just know this would be bad for those ordering online.

I'd love to have the problem you do Kate :).....lol

I dislike when stores do this. Apparently Lucky Brand recently did this too. The SA I spoke with said they have gotten a LOT of returns from online purchases since the sizing changed.

Well, Loft sizes have run quite large for a while, but that's surprising that they would suddenly change their sizing standards and run small instead! Thanks for the forewarning.

I had the same thing happen Friday at Loft. I bought a Regular jacket and always buy petites. I also had to go up 1 size in my tops. My friend had to exchange a sweater because it was to small.

I work there part time and haven't noticed any size changes for me at all...nor customers.
I will keep my eye's open for any trend away from customers usual size being too small. Thanks.

I've been noticing this for awhile. Sizes were running really big. I was always a small or a 4. Now things are more true to my typical sizes. I've been wondering why they made this change.
