PSA: LL Bean wideleg wool pants

I bought these last year in the "teal" and ADORE them. I will be sporting them again shortly. They are lined, warm, and a wonderful change from skinnies and boots. I just ordered the black and white pair. All petites are sold out, sadly, but the sale price is fantastic. Read the reviews - everyone really loves them!

Ooh, they're fully lined! That's really rare nowadays. Very tempted... How wide would you say they are, Una? Like a true wide leg trouser (wide all the way down) or more like a bootcut or flare that is more fitted in the thigh?

They are not cut like a bootcut or flare but they fit me closely in the thighs and are more like a 70s wideleg. I will see if I can find a pic of previous outfits. The quality is quite impeccable for this or a much higher price!

Huh! I almost want to buy the black & white and crop them at mid-calf. I love the concept of plaid pants but in practice I just never wear them - but those look nice, and that plaid almost gives them a punk vibe. How do their sizes run? I'm currently a 2 in general but a 27 in jeans. I'm guessing these have more room in the thighs than some brands (hooray). I used to wear so much LL Bean in high school but back then their sizing was huge.

I got a 6P - I'd say pretty TTS. The Signature line runs smaller than the regular line, which I find a little big. I can see you in the grey and black!

I am tempted by the gray and black but think I need to be "good" and wear my existing "new " pants.

Love these, Una! I saw a pair of grey tweed wide legs on the Loft site --- but I'm sure the quality is not as good. I think I'd be more in for tweed than a bolder plaid. I don't need to give my thighs more attention! I think the bigger pattern would be great for IT's.

These are sooo cute - and I'm in love with the teal plaid. I'm very tempted to order these to wear when I'm back in the midwest this winter! Una - what is the waist measurement of yours? Being a rectangle with narrow hips, I never know what size of pants/skirt to order because of my non-waist.

Q about sizing... the size chart puts me in one size larger than I usually wear. Would you say they are TTS with the chart, or with your "normal" size?

Marley, I'd guess you're a 4P or a 2. I will measure for you when I get home from work today. I got my first pair in petite, and I think I'd be a 4 in regular sizes but sized up one in P, which I think would be my normal size. Elizabeth, I guessed my sizing and didn't use the size chart - I'd say the sizing is comparable to Banana Republic (not in fit/style but just size). Viva was a size down from me, which I'd expect.

Oh, darn. I returned my last year and regretted it. I may have to get these. I'm only saying darn because I was JUST congratulating myself on not really wanting anything. Should I get the B&W, or the blue & green?

Viva, remind me why you returned them? I seem to recall you didn't think you would wear them enough. The blue/green is entirely gone in petites now but did you get a regular size?

Yes, I didn't think I would wear them enough, but right now my pants are really all close-fitting. I feel like it would be so, so nice to have a wide leg option. And I've just seen Elizabeth P's November challenge post which is kicking my butt to actually get myself dressed more often.

I would be a 4 regular, so I should be fine size-wise. I'd want to be able to wear my burnt orange booties with them, but I think they would work with either color. I've got a range of neutral sweaters ... I just have to choose which pant color. I'm going for it. Any thoughts?

The blue+ brown plaid was more subtle but looked rich. It's not so much in my palette but would go with burnt orange booies!

I'm with Beth Ann that the plaids in "my" colors looked too bold. This fall I got 2 pairs of plaid or plaid-like pants, but more subdued, and I think that's the right type for me. But I got solid color Chelsea wide-legs that are really wide!

Unfrumped, your are right about the blue + brown, but I did want (1) a pair from the sale choices, and (2) a more pronounced plaid. The blue was sold out in my size, so I ordered the black and white. It's an extra 10% off today.

I don't think you can go wrong with black and white! And the wide leg is so much fun to wear.

I remember them from last year, I still like them
