PSA: Lash primer for mascara really works!

At the risk of sounding very high maintenance, I just wanted to share a new discovery of mine: lash primer!

Don't know if this is a new invention or not, but it's new to me. I don't wear a lot of makeup, but I always wear mascara. And lately my eyelashes seem a bit more sparse, with a tendency to clump when I apply mascara. Using this lash primer seems to make the mascara go on more evenly and last longer. I'm becoming a convert and just wanted to share!

So, now I prime my face AND my eyelashes.

Haha! Does sound a little high maintenance, but I'm not pointing any fingers. I have so many steps to achieve my "not-too-made-up-looking" look, I'm surprised that I don't use it already. Thanks for the tip!

Lash tinting once a month takes 15 minutes and I'm done. It's easy and I tie it in with eyebrow maintenance.

For some reason I don't understand, lash tinting is illegal in New York, where I live. I have blonde hair and eyelashes, so mascara is very important to me. I'm going to try lash primer. Thanks for the tip!

Firecracker, I know what you mean about working hard for the "not-too-made-up-looking" look. My husband can't even tell when I'm wearing makeup, so I guess it's working!

I am very low maintenance with my makeup but have been using Lancome's eyelash primer for a while and it does make a big difference for me. http://www.lancome-usa.com/on/.....ark=135597

I use Jane Iredale lash conditioner before applying mascara. It's been around a long time, and it's one of my must haves.

I was told by my hair stylist that lash tinting is unsafe and illegal.

Does it go on white?

Deb, it goes on clear.

The Jane Iredale conditioner goes on white but then quickly turns clear.

The Lancome goes on white. I'm not sure if it turns clear because I immediately add mascara.

Regular tint-er here, but add mascara sometimes. Used Lancôme (IIRC) primer ages ago, glad for the reminder to give primer or conditioner another shot.

I do my own tinting, will not let a cosmetician or hairdresser do that again.

Question for those of you who use the primer....does it make it any harder or easier to remove your mascara? Eye makeup remover really bothers my eyes and I wouldn't want to scrub any more than I already do. Thanks.

JayS, I've only been using it for a few days but I haven't noticed that my mascara is any harder to remove when I use primer.
