What a sweet sweet story and set of pictures. You need to frame #2! Your son is adorable, love his spunky pose in #6! Glad he is doing well and settling in. Your outfit is great as usual!

And cute pictures Jeanne and Angie! Jeanne, your kids are so cute together! And little Angie and Gregg...aww...

Thanx for sharing this wonderful milestone of your family life with us, Ornella.
Yes, you have a beautiful, smart and handsome boy and as I can see he had the most cheerfull Schultüte of all times! Loved the pictie taken from your back, walking together to school(that is priceless!) you were both so stylish, and think Hubby too:-).
As you said in the other OT thread you are facing probably a very difficult time in your life, but despite all difficulties good you are aware about it having to be all some good and priceless times.
Please take care of yourself and be there for your family 'just' one day at a time and you'll see will all solve and settle sooner than imagine.
Hugs.

Thanks for sharing! Both you and DS look great.
I didn't know "Schultüten" were only a German thing. I remember getting mine, I was so proud to carry it and finally start school.

Saw this outfit on the Wall, Ornella. It's so trim and tidy, beautiful.

Aww, re. DS. Also, I'm jealous of his cone.

Thank you all, your comments extend the excitements and magic of the day even longer. I am happy it feels natural to want to share this day with you.

The more I think of it, the more I'm mesmerised by the tradition of the school cones. I hope to share a few more things with you later, it's interesting how many non-Germans did not know about this tradition, while our lovely Astrid did not know it was German-only

Speaking of that, my new neighbour, a Spanish lady who moved here a few weeks ago with her family and whose son started different school on the same day - knew nothing of the tradition. She was so grateful I pointed out the school cone tradition to her so her boy did not feel left out on the day on his ceremony.

My son's was certainly distinctive and cheerful. Apart from those in the shops, I only ever saw one school cone IRL, so it was quite a challenge to design and make ours, but I wanted to make it and it was actually quite cathartic process for me personally. And the start of school - after turbulent couple of years before and after our move - was a sort of climax. I felt everything simply came together and fell in the place with him starting school in the new setting.
