"Project Runway," anyone?

I have never watched "Project Runway" for all these years, but I watched the first episode this week and I love it!! Big fun! I can't really tell who's who much yet, but I love the older guy who said he was 102 but turned out to be 57 and won the first challenge! Also like Miss Trinidad and Tobago. Some of the crying guys, maybe notsomuch.

My Marine watched it with me and opined as how Heidi Klum is "kind of scary." LOL

Yes, we watch it every season! My dh really likes it too for some strange reason (and no, he isn't even a metrosexual!). I'm rooting for the "old" guy!

I never watched either except a few episodes at the end last year. You would have loved Mondo's designs from last season.

I didn't catch the very end so I didn't know that he won. I loved what the 102 year old guy did although I think they were kind of cruel to him in the way they described his model's styling. I thought her look fit the style of the dress. Also, I loved the stripey lace outfit. I was just impressed overall that they were able to make something out of nothing.

Modgrl, it was pretty awesome because he went back into the room where the other contestants were waiting, and said "I won!" And the other contestants were all, "Then why are you shaking like a leaf?" And he's all, "Because I'm, like, totally overwhelmed!"

I only got into it partway through last season but really liked it (and Mondo was robbed!) so was excited when this season started up again. My favorite was Viktor's black and white dress. I was disappointed it not only didn't win, but didn't make it into the top 3. I do like the old guy though.

PR is a must-see for me! I was pleased with the judges' decision this episode, so I'm crossing my fingers they won't piss me off the way they did last season.

Its funny how obvious it is that some contestants are really there for drama/personality -- not necessarily for their talent. But when personality and talent come in the same package (Santino Rice, Christian Siriano, Laura Bennett, etc.) its so much fun to watch!

Yay! I LOVE Project Runway. I have watched every season since the very first one. (and I haven't read all the posts here because I haven't watched last week's episode yet...just in case someone spilled any beans!)

I am a huge PR fan. The day after a new episode, my daughter, sister and I are all about the post-game commentary with each other. That and Tim Gunn is my PCB.

I love Project Runway too! I've seen loads of re-runs but this will be the first season I watch start to finish. The older guy is already my favorite, modest but great at what he does!

I love Project Runway - we have our own version about half way through the season in Australia at the moment but I just finished watching last season with Mondo in it. I loved his work, he had some gorgeous design I especially loved his high waist pants made from the fabric he designed himself.

I think it's a lot of fun and used to watch regularly. Love Tim Gunn! But, I don't have a TV/cable, so for the most part (except Mad Men, which I watch with my dad at my parents' house) I only watch current shows if they stream online. To my knowledge, Project Runway doesn't do this.

Love Project Runway. Love Bert, too, and the dress he won with last week. Loved Mondo last year...did you see him judging? There was another show on before the season opener where they did their auditions, and there he was...with Seth Aaron, Laura Bennett too...oh, and Leanne, don't remember her last name, but she was from Portland. Good fun tv.

Kari, go to mylifetime.com. You can watch episodes there. I'll probably be watching them online even though I have cable. Just got cast in a show and my evenings will be spent at the theatre so I'll watch them on Saturday morning.

I'm a faithful PR watcher, although I gave up on last season because I could not stand Gretchen and just watching her made me mad. I too, love Bert (the "102 year old") and think the judges can be blunt, but are usually spot on.

I used to never miss an episode of PR, then last season with Mondo-gate I just didn't think I would ever watch it again. I never liked Gretchen's attitude, and that overwhelmed me so much I think I started hating her clothes simply because they were hers. Mondo was robbed!
Now reading this thread is making me miss it. Especially Tim Gunn! I would love him to be my personal shopper (wouldn't he and Angie make a fab team!!)

Another one chiming in here to agree; Mondo was completely robbed. Gretchen was obnoxious. I DVR the episodes, so I'd fast forward when I saw her starting to talk.

Hey Girl! I was hooked on PR when Seth Aaron won. Last season, I was shocked, as were many, when Mondo didn't win. I never liked ANYTHING Gretchen made.

I like this season's designers - so far, so good. The first challenge was, well, challenging. Bert's dress was fabulous!

Julie's designs are fantastic and look out for Anya!

But Tim Gunn, as always, steals the show. He always 'gets it right.'

Project Runway is one of my favorite shows and I'm so happy it's back on! I like the new group of designers and saw a lot of talent in the casting pre-show. That level of talent unfortunately didn't show up in the first task (save a few exceptions), but that may be a result of nerves, lack of sleep, lack of time, etc. I think many of the designers will find their groove as time goes on.

As an "older person" (turning 45 on Monday), I'm so happy the "old guy" won! I loved his dress, but it wasn't my favorite. I agree with Kelly that Viktor's black and white dress was the best. I was SHOCKED that it wasn't in the top 3! I liked the lace top with the green skirt as well, but wasn't that impressed with Anya's look (although I do like her overall).

I really look forward to watching the show tomorrow night. I feel like I don't really know any of their names at this point, but I know that I will start to get to know the designers and their aesthetics as time goes on.

I hope the judges pick the right winner this time. Mondo was robbed last season, as he was by far the best in the pack! I loved Seth Aaron from the previous season and was happy to see him win, but Gretchen wasn't "all that" in my book (although I did like her jewelry, which I now see that she's selling on Piper Lime).

HUGE Project Runway fan! I DVR it upstairs in my workout room because my husband can't stand it...keeps me honest and on the treadmill. Except I prefer to run outside when it's actually nice outside, so he's been "forced" to endure it so far this season! LOL!
