So, I have came to day 20 And I confess, I'm a bit bored eh eh, I Love my capsule but I miss shopping And wear something new, it's not that I want to wear other pieces outside my capsule, i only miss the rush of buying And wearing something new.
I don't need anything And have so many clothes, I will Try to stay in the path. Any tips to survive?
Bellow are some of my last outfits.
I have realized I'm not a jewelery person, I have only a necklace And dont miss the others, I have to stop buying jewelery because I never reach for it

Yes, you definitely have a lot of beautiful clothes. These outfits are all winners, and they look very current. Keep up the good work, Rute!

I think I'd feel the same as you if I tried to do this. It makes sense, but it's hard to replace fun and habitual activities. What about a themed bit of movie watching, like all the Jane Austin movies, or all the Audrey Hepburn ones? That can be distracting.

I would so happily wear your clothes Rute....I love all the outfits you have put together here. The grey/blue shoes and bag, and the necklace are divine. Better to have one special necklace than lots you don't wear. Despite my thoughts to buy nothing along with you, I weakened today with a cashmere sweater for our approaching winter. I haven't told my husband yet as he'll stir me up and jest with "I knew you couldn't." ... He laughed so much when I told him I was going to abstain from shopping for a while! It is only one piece, and I'm going to enjoy it, and feel good that I've gone six weeks since my last purchase. Something of a record for me! I'm putting myself back on track now....
I don't have any advice for you, but maybe it is more realistic to allow for one piece each month or two to satisfy your need for something new rather than complete withdrawal. Good luck!

I think you did well with just one special purchase, not bad, I tried before to shop only one special item per month and failed. I like shopping and the excitement of wearing something new. I really have to find alternatives.

Has it really been 20 days already?! You may be getting bored with your capsule, but we're definitely enjoying seeing all your fab outfits. But I think I'd have a hard time doing this, too; I chafe against any system that imposes limitations.

Love all these outfits, I think that you are doing a great job. I would never be able to do something like this, I get bored too easily. Interesting discovery about jewelry, and I think it fits the reality of many of us.

I cannot be bored of your color scheme and genuine mango fabness. I've just bought a bl&w dotted umbrella there:-). Now hear me sobbing: I think you missed to update us with a few of your other outfits. There was a post with 1-3 then 4-8, and now+6 =makes only 14! (not 20!!!)

They say it takes 3 weeks to develop a new habit. Well done!

Foraging and hunting could be hard-wired into the human experience. What else to hunt? Photographs? Best cafe in your city for people watching? Birds? Wildflowers?

How much money are you not spending that could go toward a new direction?

I did something similar to this a few years ago, but I only got 6 articles of clothing (plus all the accessories I wanted) and I loved it. I would say that you should pull out some accessories that you haven't used in a long time & try to incorporate them into your current look.
Sometimes I actually feel better about my wardrobe when I have LESS stuff to look at. If you really don't use your jewelry, take the good stuff to a consignment shop & the junk to a battered women's shelter. You'll get a bit of cash & a bit of a buzz from doing something good.

These are great outfits and I know you look fabulous in them, Rute.

Stick to the 30 days and see the project through. But since this is no fun for you - reassess. I agree with DEB. Allow yourself a few purchases a month and stick to a one-in-one-out wardrobe principle to manage wardrobe size.

Find more places to go/things to do in your outfits. Enjoy how easy it is to get ready and get out the door. Notice the best outfits for your different activities.

I understand completely. When I feel the need to shop, it is often for reasons other than "need." I distract myself. It does not work all the time, but it does work more than 50 percent of the time.

When you feel the desire to shop (just to shop), try distracting yourself. Call a friend. Go to a movie. Commit to a hike. Cook a brand new meal from scratch. You will be surprised at how often you will forget about your desire to shop.

Of course, I am also a firm believer in the reward system. When I have done something exceptionally well, I do get a reward. That is often times a new clothing item. So there are flaws in my system.

Have you catalogued all your clothes Rute? That could be a great way to spend your time. I agree with Angie about one in one out; for people who love to shop it is the only way to keep things manageable imo (once you have everything you need of course).

I have to agree with Angie: see this first month out and then review the situation. This must be agonising for you, given your need to shop and to wear new things. Maybe the way forward for you may be to pull out a capsule for a week or month then add just a few new purchases. If you then follow Angie's one-in-one-out strategy, you will be wearing all your clothes, adding the new things you love, and keeping the numbers down to a manageable amount.

I must add that you have some fabulous clothes.

Would you mind very much if I came to Europe and stole all your shoes? These are lovely outfits, for sure. There's a clean-lined integrity to them, while still being current.

I know what you mean about feeling bored - I'm not even halfway through my April 30x30 challenge and I'm already chafing a bit at the limitations. Remixing has never seemed quite as enjoyable to me as variety!
