Oh I know. I’d probably add a panel of solid blue at the bottom, to provide both a rest and a bridge to the rug. But the expanse of white wall does that too.

Hm, I do have solid blue fabric…. And some turquoise too.

But I tell you, sewing in a straight line is harder than you think! This fabric is heavy, and I’ve put blackout backing on it, so it does not pull across the sewing table smoothly. Look at the bottom hem of that curtain! Doing it over is on my “later” list; I don’t expect to add extra sewing now.

Those fabrics are pretty! It tooke me five years + 20 minutes to raise my curtain rods higher, lol. Can’t say I put a lot of emphasis on these things Your room is looking nice already!

I think the softer tones of the rug look great with the curtains and the soft pink of the sheets. I don't have any issue with the use of leaves in the two patterns.

Question: Does that pattern come in a round rug? I think it might not be the pattern being so dominant to your eye as much as the two strong rectangles, from the curtain on the wall to the rug on the floor, both fighting for attention. Three rectangles if you count the bed. The eye needs a place to rest. A round rug would break up the strong verticals. Just a thought.

Kate, the paisley rug does theoretically come in a round rug, but it’s sold out. I’ve asked to be notified if/when it comes in. Your comment about the leaves refers to the one that isn’t here yet, right?

Actually, no, SF. I meant the Target rug, but I see now that what, at a glance looked like elliptical leaves, were actually the petals of a flower!

The Monstera leaf rug is handsome but might be overwhelming in a small room.

Thanks for clarifying, Kate!

Love the rug and glad you found the letters!

I’ve never been so excited to do dishes in my life! (The drain wasn’t just clogged—water bubbled UP through it, overflowing my sink)

I hope your sink gets fixed! I like the Target rug, but now want to see the Monstera one.

SF, I once snaked a clogged drain in an apartment kitchen sink and had the snake punch right through the waste pipe. It was lead (*very* old building) and so soft you could bend it with one hand but what did I know. I only knew the super wouldn't answer the door when I knocked.

Anyway, the nasty clog water gushed out all over the kitchen floor and my feet, but I took comfort in the fact that at least it wasn't full of something caustic like Drano. And yes, when the new pipe went in, I couldn't wait to do the dishes!
