Despite slow internet, I’m making occasional visits here. I just couldn’t keep away. Mostly, I’ve been reading, but tonight I’m just full of questions. The good news is that I will be in a new apartment with fast internet in only 15 more days. Yay!

My final question for tonight is about my new pair of Bermudas. They are super cheep $16 casual light blue walk shorts from Wal-Mart, but I desperately needed something to wear to keep cool this summer. The first problem is that, although they fit perfectly when I bought them, they have already started to stretch out a little. That’s what I get for buying cheep denim, I guess.

The second problem is quite a bit more annoying and complicated. They have a low rise. The “waist-band” is around my hips. Somehow, when I bought them I didn’t notice this. I was just excited that they fit (unlike the other 6 pairs I tired on). I’ve actually tried on other jeans with the “waist” this low, and they haven’t fit, because my hip-bones are too wide. I guess these were made for someone shaped like me. One problem with the low rise is simply that I’m not used to it. I keep wanting to pull my pants up, because I feel like they are falling down, even though they are not. The second problem is muffin top. I only have a slight muffin top when standing, which other people would probably never notice, but I’m paranoid about it. The real trouble comes every time I try to sit or bend over. When I sit or bend, I have to grab the pants by the “waist” and pull them up, otherwise the “waist-band” digs into my lumpy lower stomach just above the hip bone (what I call my “fat spot). If I don’t yank them up when ever I set or bend, not only does it cause nasty looking fat rolls to show—major muffin top—but it is also painful. The odd thing is that once I do pull them up, I have enough room to stick my hand between me and the pants. So I don’t think I’m too fat for them. I think this is just a bad rise height for me. Any advice? What’s the problem? Should I stick to higher rises? I’m certainly more comfortable in pants that sit about an inches bellow my belly button, instead of 2 ½ inches like these.
