Hi Greg!

The site looks fantastic. I just wanted to let you know of one issue I'm experiencing. I'm getting the following message frequently: "A problem occurred with this webpage so it was reloaded."

I just upgraded the iOS on my iPad too, so I'm not sure whether that is an issue, or it's a YLF issue, but I thought I'd let you know. I primarily look at YLF in Safari on iPad.

Not that I noticed. It happened once while I was on my Finds page, once when I was on a thread in the forum, etc. There did not seem to be any common thing that would precede it -- it just happened randomly, as far as I could tell. It doesn't seem to happen on my iPhone.

Thanks for the extra info. I will see whether I can also reproduce that on an iPad with the latest updates.

I've had the same message as Janet. I'm also on an iPad with OS 8.3 and Safari. Seems more prone to it on pic-intensive threads. The crash knocks me off the site so I have to log in again even though my name still appears in the forum.

I have personally seen this message several times on sites other than YLF, particularly when the web page is quite complex. Searching around I have found that it is pretty widespread. For example, it is being discussed on Apple's discussion forum and this iPad forum.

My guess is that this problem is a combination of (A) some bugs in iOS relating to memory management and (B) sites like YLF using a lot of memory in the web page. I will be doing what I can to reduce memory usage and improve efficiency. Hopefully that will help.

It also might be ads misbehaving and I'll investigate that too.

In the meantime, if you do notice any patterns relating to when it happens, please let me know.

Just another data-point: this happens to me too when I'm using the iPad, often on YLF but also on other websites. It definitely seems to happen most on long pages or on pages with a lot of media. I never noticed it before a few months ago - maybe the iOS/Safari update changed something?
