although I *KNOW* how awesome this community/Angie/Greg is, I cant help but feel/worry about it just 'disappearing' like others I've put my heart/soul into and supported completely..... I'm not expecting any 'forever' promises, honestly, but have been burned deeply too many times, I guess

Nothing lasts forever, BMom, especially on the internet, but I know that Angie and Greg are committed to this community, the blog, and the website as a whole. It's their livelihood and their cherished, shared project.

That's probably about as much of a guarantee as you can get in this age of rapidly changing media.

It is hard to have things we love disappear. IMO that is all the more reason to enjoy it wholeheartedly while it is here

Now why would you say that? Is there something I don't know? I love coming here and would rather have a small community rather than a large one. Let's hope nothing changes for quite a while.

If there is something you don't know, then we don't know it either.

The thing about small versus large community is an interesting one. YLF's chances of sticking around improve considerably if it grows. We have Inge's help now, but Angie and I really need to get more people on board. The hours are too long, even for something we love doing.

But I also understand that people don't want to lose the intimacy. Our challenge is to make the experience here seem intimate, no matter how many people are signed up. That's what the "watching" feature is all about.

BMom, it also occurs to me that you've been through some difficult losses, so maybe you're worrying more about such things than you normally would, or than circumstances warrant? Did the responses here help?

I am actually panicking?! I never thought that was a possibility! The people here are like my long distance friends! Anyways .... I think we will all find a way .... Humans always do. Adapt and change

As long as we keep contributing to the forum, I think it'll keep going for a long time, kind of like Howardforums for phones and technology. It's a wonderful place. Really pleased that I officially joined after lurking for a couple of years.
