Printed sneakers/trainers : Yay or Nay? ETA : ordered - and returned

I seldom if ever wear sneakers or trainers (except for sport). However, I lately found myself more and more attracted to sporty-looking printed ones, especially floral, when I come across them in stores.

Footwear like the finds below could probably be quite versatile, from city breaks to shopping days, but I can't make up my mind.

What do you think? Would you (or do you) wear such printed sneakers / trainers for non-sporty occasions?

ETA : my best friend, my husband and you YLF girls all voted Yay! This helped me decide (or gave me an excuse...) to order my favourite ones - the black Ted Bakers.

Further ETA : Sadly, I had to return the black Ted Bakers. They look marvellous in person, but there is a piece of hard material in the back that hurts my previously damaged Achilles tendon. Sigh.

I'm very attracted to sneakers with pattern, esp botanicals. I have a pair of classic Converse all stars with an apple print from several years ago. They are great for livening up casual outfits, although I rarely wear now because my foot size and width has changed since then.

I particularly like the blue pair you show; I think the floral looks great with that classic silhouette.

a big yes from me....i own these....the 1st pair is embroidered and the last pair is sort of a hybrid sneaker/oxford....all 3 pairs are comfy and take an ordinary outfit to a more interesting place....

I have a love for all kinds of floral footwear, and I too am talking myself out of getting them. I have a pair of block heeled pumps with floral embroidery that I love. Did talk myself out of floral booties but floral sneakers are on my mind for spring. So I say get them...

Yes, I definitely think printed sneakers/trainers would be great for sightseeing, shopping, etc. Floral sneakers/trainers, in particular, are more pretty and fun than ordinary sneakers/trainers.

I don't have any at present, but I hope to come across a pair that I really like--and at a reasonable price. I don't want to pay much, as this style will likely not be wearable in my daily life. (Most of the ones I have seen, would be too sporty/casual/heavy for my job and most of my other activities.) Of the ones shown here, kkards' #2 is my favourite.

I had a pair of floral canvas skimmers a few years back. They were great in summer, I loved to mix them with other floral prints and nautical stripes. I miss them!

To answer your question, yes, if I found the right pair, I would wear them for non-sporty occasions (Shopping isn't a sport?). They would need to be all-day comfortable, and, being a print, could be more limited when styling. The Ted Bakers would be lovely with a black/blush outfit.

Yes! I think they are so fun! I have a pair of red plaid and a pair with a Liberty floral print. Both are Vans style. I hope to add some great lace ups for late spring and summer!

I quite like the look of printed sneakers, even though I don't own any (I have fussy feet and haven't found the right one.) They can add a fun pop to a solid colored outfit, or be pattern mixed for the more maximal look. I am more drawn to the skater shoe (Vans lace up) or slip on style than the athletic shoe look. I think high tops look particularly good with a print.

I like printed/patterned sneakers, and even though I didn't wear this particular pair (by Nike, in Finds below) a ton this past year, I still enjoy them for casual days.

These are not floral but I am in a bit of a mood for lilac and fancy.

Also I like those floral sneaker oxfords that KKards posted. I ordered them, would have kept them if the sole wasn't white.

I voted yay. I have a chevron pair (Missoni x Converse) and a dark floral pair. It's a nice change from plain sneakers. I like the Ted Bakers too.
