So, I was about to call for price adjustments on some of my NAS stuff that has gone on deeper sale, but I realized that since I actually wanted to exchange sizes on several items anyway, it made more sense for me simply to reorder at the new price and then return the unwanted items when I cross the border.

A few items I'm keeping have also changed in price. The Amber Sun sweater (only a few $ so possibly not worth the effort of a call). But also the DVF sweater -- and the price differential there is quite substantial. Except it is only available in one size and that size is not mine. Does that mean I do not qualify for an adjustment? (I would consider that reasonable, by the way-- but since I have never done this I thought I had better check.)

Meanwhile, I got to browsing and hit "buy" on this dress. I am sorry I can't provide the Nordstrom's link but it appears I got the last one and it's gone from the system. It was 55% off, so a substantial deal.

Guilt pangs. Do I need another dress? I just bought a Tory Burch fall/winter dress, and ...ooops ...I also ordered a Kamalikulture turtleneck dress! Plus a sleeveless dress. And in the fall and especially dead of winter, I do not wear dresses very often!

Mind you, the Kamilikultures were only $50 each so hardly guilt worthy expenditures. I will wear the turtleneck as a casual dress, I'm sure -- it looks like something that I just won't stress about, so I can see it getting used even in my work-at-home capsule. And the sleeveless KK is mostly intended for the summer, when my dresses and skirts really come into their own.

So...especially given our recent discussions about how much is enough, what tipped me over the edge besides sales goggles? Well, I have been searching for a little navy dress for fall/ winter. And this looked like the perfect one. Simple, streamlined, a good neckline for me, subtle detail. Could be worn out to dinner, to a funeral, to many functions, to a winter wedding, etc. Not the kind of thing I would wear every day, but sort of a winter-ready combination between my two other navy dresses. A less sporty, more dressy version of my sleeveless cotton Ralph Lauren navy sweater dress, and a less sexy winter version of my Nicole Miller navy sheath.

Unless it's just too conservative. There is a cold shoulder version, too, but I worried that would date more quickly. Should I try that instead? (I can easily return when I go to pick up at the border.)

Would love your thoughts. Of course I realize that unless it looks great, it's all moot -- and luckily, I can send it right back where it came from if I don't like the fit. But supposing the fit is good, does it make sense or is it just a stupid purchase that will become an orphan?

ETA: GIRL MATH RULES!! I just called Nordie's for my price adjustments and with those plus the return of one pencil skirt I more than paid for the dress anyway.

The Tinkit sweater went down in price by $60!!

Heh! So if the dress works, it's almost like getting it for free. And if it doesn't, I will just have more to spend, guilt free.
