Hope Im not too late! Thanks to YLF I found this past year I have really enjoyed my wardrobe and the outfits I have put together which makes it challenging to pick favorites, but here goes.

I have also learnt so much and really began to appreciate just how lovely some of my peices are. While I added new items to my wardrobe, I also got rid of a lot but probably the most exciting thing was working with my existing wardrobe and seeing that with a bit of 'tweaking' , there were already some great outfits. Thanks so much to Angie and you all for your care, interest and comments... I have learnt much. xxx

You are all so inspiringly stylish! One of my goals this year is to hone in on my own style AND cultivate the confidence to express that style. You ladies are showing me how it's done--thank you!

Edited to add a picture (why not?!): This was me out shopping for bras (see the bra on the bench!). I felt casually pulled together that day.

here is mine, although it's hard to see the outfit from the picture. i wore this to a friend's brithday at a bar and have good memories. the headband is the same color as my purse and i felt that it sort of tied the purse in to my outfit.

Wow, Angie and YLF ladies! I've been gone for a few days and have been missing all of this fun. What a pleasure to read thru this thread and see such fabulous style concentrated in one post! It's been a real treat to watch all of your style evolutions and I am looking forward to the year ahead. Hmmm...I seem to be in a jeans and pencil skirt mood, below.

Finally, I can post pictures!

I have to say that I had tears in my eyes, looking over some of these posts. Happy tears! It is so inspiring to see the variety to styles represented on this forum and also to see the style evolutions! You are ALL so beautiful and so unique!

My best style decision in 2011 was to join this forum. My second best decision was to take Angie's brilliant advice and cut my hair! So although I joined the forum in the summer, my very favourite outfits all date from post-haircut.

Nevertheless, I want to post two earlier pics because they represent something important about the development of my style. First, a Picture Challenge outfit. I would never even have thought to look outside my own closet for inspiration before YLF; and here I took inspiration from the picture itself as well as from MaryK's brilliant use of colour. I also mixed up items I would never have worn together in the past, and wore my first pencil skirt and nude shoes. Also my first heels in many years!

Picture 2 shows another key factor in my development: learning to trust my own eye. Opinions on this dress were mixed on the forum; many thought it was too much print for me and should be shortened. I chose to leave it as a midi. I am so glad I did!

Pic 3: To the WritersFest in my leaf skirt and denim jacket. This look, inspired completely by Angie, was a total revelation to me. It reversed an old favourite formula of mine (denim on the bottom, dressy jacket on top) and allowed me to see how I could dress up without looking too ladylike. I felt fantastic that night!

Pic 4: First outing of the BOOTIES. Thanks to Krishnidoux, I gave them a try, and I love how this simple look came together. Waving to my scarf twin, Claire!

Pic 5: Booties again, with plaid tights, another YLF first for me!

Pic 6: The bike challenge. This is really ALGO for me and probably not my ultimate style preference, but I had never before dared to mix so many patterns and textures, and I'm really happy with how it turned out. Plus I am wearing my wonderful new wool jacket, which reminded me of my great love of jackets, and made me ask myself why I only had a couple in my closet!

Pics 7/8: I love my coat, I love my coat, I love my coat! And how could I not include the very first outfit of mine that was ever copied? I can hardly believe that anyone would want to steal a look of mine, much less the stylish ladies on this forum!

Pic 9: I really do love my coat.

Pic 10: My other new formula! Jackets and denim on the bottom. Love!

Pic 11: Houndstooth, as I return to my own fashion roots and remember what I loved before I forgot fashion for two decades!

THANK YOU Angie and everyone here for helping me to find my style!

It's great that so many people had difficulty choosing a favorite outfit. To me, that speaks volumes. This is a wonderful thread and I have enjoyed re-living these best of the best selections. As for me, outfits 1 and 2 were the first that came to mind as favorites. A few others were vying for third place and I ultimately opted for the Bailey dress. Many thanks to Angie and all of you for support, encouragement and wisdom throughout this journey.

Thank you for the uplifting words, Angie! Per your request, here's the outfit you mentioned - I nearly popped this into the post but ended up editing it out along with some other "honorable mention" outfits.

That's it, Kari! YAY! Thanks for adding in the outfit.

Oh, Suz! You win hairstyle evolution of the century. WOW!! Don't you ever grow it out. I LOVE your outfits and they get more dazzling each time you post - as you hone in on what your style is *really* all about. Of your selection, my favourite KILLER outfits are: #3 because it's edgy and sassy. #9 because it's fun and cuddly. #10 because you were made to wear those silhouettes, and #11 because you are amazingly rocking chic! YOU GO GIRL!!!

Kyle, you are Queen Sassy and it's as simple as that! Those KILLER outfits absolutely make my heart sing, but you are missing a few more of my faves. The green frock that we bought together. The B 44 striped pencil skirt with the white shirt and red shoes, and the black sparkly pants with the black top and two toned oxfords. Please add them in! Rock on, Kyle. It's been so fun to help you hone in on what you love to wear

WOWIE ZOWIE! This forum is on fire with all the sizzling styles displayed thus far! Thank you all for sharing! I need to cull through my pics and hopefully soon I'll be able to add my faves for the year.

I also just wanted to add how awesome it is that Angie remembers certain outfits from so many forum members! You never cease to amaze me, Angie!

What a fun post!

QM, you are SO sweet to go over all our posts and comment! Wasn't it amazing to see the development of each person's style this way? I really loved the retrospective and thank Angie.

My faves of the ones you posted are #3 (because that dress is SO sexy on you!); #10 (because that dress is going to be such a workhorse and you broke through your fear that it was boring and showed us it is AMAZING with the way you styled it here); and #12, because that is a quintessential QM MOTG look, so "you."

thanks Suz. I had meant to add a disclaimer that I have yet to get a decent pic of dress #3, but it is absolutely my favorite purchase of the year and I feel so good in that dress, it borders on vanity so I just had to include it in my selection of faves.

I love all of these - wonderful to see them together.
Here is my favorite - I am still figuring out how to take outfit pics, and I only started in November, so I just have 1.
More to come in 2012!

fern- I love your color combination. Great outfit! Cant wait to see more of your style in 2012!

I can't begin to catch up on this thread, but I'm still looking and oohin and ahhing over everyone's best styles!

Fern, your outfit pic goes with your screen name!

I just wanted to say thank you to all of you for sharing so much of your style journey, not only on this thread, but in general on the forum. I am constantly surprised, inspired, and challenged by each of you as I watch and sometimes even participate in your development of a style that is really true to you, and in case I haven't said so, I am so appreciative of the encouragement and advice I've received in the past several years as my own style has evolved. It is such fun to see what each of us picked as favorites throughout the past year, and also to compare what we started the year wearing vs. what feels "right" to each of us now.
Queen Mum, you are SO sweet to take time to comment individually for each of us. Big hug to you!

What an awesome collection of amazing outfits from all you amazing ladies! Much thanks for sharing.

Hi Angie, thank you so much for your kind words. You are just amazing the way your remember all our outfits!! When I was a little girl (I first remember being interested in clothing when I was about 10) I always dreamed of being like some of the elegant and graceful women I would see out and about, on tv and in magazines. So for you to use the words elegance and grace means so much to me. I will add that other outfit as soon as I can get Master 8 of the computer

Thank you so much for your interest and the time you take with each of us. We are so privileged to have you offering advice and guiding us in our choices etc. Angie you are so generous with the your knowledge, and expertise and I truly feel as though I have my own personal stylist! In fact I have many :)... all you lovely YLF ladies.

And QM, Kim a special mention to you for taking the time to comment on ALL our posts.
You are a woman of immense grace and style.. thank you!

I have now been through almost all the posts and I have to say I feel very special being part of this incredibly diverse and stylish group of women.

Gee whiz, what a thread!! Kim, you are such a goddess to go through everyone's posts and make lovely comments.

Angie and Kim, THANK YOU.

Kim, if I had to pick a fave, it would be you in your KK dress. It is just perfect on you!

I so enjoyed looking at everyone's posts. Thank you for putting the pictures up. I haven't taken the time to document outfits this year. Hopefully will do more in 2012. But I like this MOTG outfit a lot. The best part for me about this picture is that I think it's indicative of my style evolution. I'm more stylish now as a new mom than I was pre-baby!

This is an amazing thread! So wonderful to look through. Everyone is sooo stylish. Wow wow wow! I don't have any pictures to contribute this year as I've been rather absent from the forums, but maybe next year! Angie, thanks so much for starting this thread, and everyone for sharing their gorgeous looks!

Kim, YOU ROCK!!! That was extremely thoughtful and therapeutic.

Deborah, your style wish came true. You *are* elegant and graceful - and effortlessly so.

Rute, you have KILLER style! You are always chic, polished, trendy and spunky - with just the right amount of classic thrown into the mix. Your favourites are just perfect in every way and I can't pick my best from your selection. You wow us all the time! But your Karen Millen dress is missing and so are the outfits with your coloured jeans. Those were amongst my faves of your 2011 style year. Please add them in!

Fern, that's a sweet outfit!

Alecia, KILLER look that matches your cherub! Please add your recent b-day outfit too. It takes the cake

Well, here it is.

I love these all for different reasons.

1. First time wearing corduroy in the summer.
2. First time tucking into jeans!
3. I just love this dress, it's been a favorite since I got it.
4. The lining on this jacket!
5. My favorite outfit of the year, I think?
6. My first DIY
7. My favorite skirt AND blouse
8. Cobalt skinnies!
9. I know maxis aren't a fave, but this outfit head to toe was a summer go-to
10.
11:
12. Love my vest
13. Same as 12...plus I love this dress
14. A recent fave.

I am so saving this thread to browse all these stunning outfits again in 2012 (every time I look at them I see new details, and get fresh ideas on how I can make certain things I admire on you work for me). I had already seen many of these in your posts, but looking at them all together in one place the sky-high style quotient is almost mind-blowing!!

Thank you for this amazing visual treat!

P.S. I have to admit I didn't post all that many pictures in 2011, and when I did they weren't usually WIW's, but mostly outfits that I loved getting your feedback on.

Ladies it's been wonderful reading through all of your posts and seeing all your amazing outfits! 2011 was a good year I love seeing how over the year styles get changed, evolve, become refined. I'm bookmarking this page to come back to for some great inspiration!

I had a hard time picking my favorites (not a bad problem to have, eh?). I came to YLF in 2010 so all of 2011 was a YLF year for me, and it's been a blast looking through a year's worth of style evolution. #1 was the outfit that got me really wanting to define my style direction back in February, and I haven't looked back since (these are in chronological order, a handful per season). I really enjoyed adding a boho vibe to my summer style this year (well, having ANY summer style was wonderful as summer used to be the season I was terrified of), as well as incorporating more brights and white/gray/lightness into all outfits.

Thank you, YLF, for all the encouragement and inspiration! I look forward to what 2012 brings <3

Good grief, Alecia, that is the CUTEST photograph ever. I love how your daughter and your puppy are staring up at you adoringly...as they should since you look so fabulous!

Sarah, I'm pretty sure you could make a paper sack look gorgeous. All of your outfits are lovely!

Aida, you have a really fun style! I love to see your pictures.

A HUGE jam packed thread

Sarah you have KILLER style! And your style evolution has been mind blowing when I compare it to when you first started posting. And I have enjoyed every minute with you. #5 is my favourite hands down! (I think it was your fave too). It says "Sarah" most to me - of what I know about Sarah, anyway :). I like #3 next because those are my colours too, and #14 after that. Just so perfect!

Aida what an inspirational set of KILLER outfits! My word!! #2 is my favourite outfit that you have *ever* posted, hands down. It shows an attitude all of it's own and the lines are brilliantly clean. #15, #20 and #23 are next because they scream "Aida" from the roof tops in melodic glory. Love it! Rock on, girlfriend.
