Last weekend, before Natalie inspired me to count up my closet (http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....ou-natalie), I'd gone on a window-shopping spree.
The idea was that trying out different colours and silhouettes might help me determine what styles work better for me, making future shopping trips less time-consuming (I sometimes do buy because I'm sick and tired of searching).
But I'm sorry to say I broke SYC and got 6 bits of shopping to come home with me. The tally is 2 shirts, 3 camis (!) and a mystery item I'm still playing with.
The last one I was very pleased with, but I no point talking about it until I can show it to you.
The camis I should have got *years* ago --- they just rescued several orphan shirts and a dear orphan dress. See for instance this gauzy shirt in my jeans thread: http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....-7-sort-of and
Also the first dress in this thread, with two different camisoles: http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....cia-sheena
WHY I left it so long, I have no idea! I guess I thought it didn't make enough of a difference. SILLY me! They were on sale, so they didn't have all the colours I wanted; but I plan to go back for more (nude is top of my list).
As for the shirts, they were on clearance for a couple of dollars each. I liked the colours. The first is proving a bit of a problem. It's snug (#1-2), so I thought I could wear it as a jacket. But having tried it (#3-5), I'm a little bothered by the vents at the side. What do you think? Any other suggestions?
The second shirt I liked the colour. I'm not sure if it suits me, but the price was experimentation-friendly, so I picked it up. What say you, ladies? It's a little gauzy --- indeed, that's what got me looking at camis! That, at least, is a success story.
Well, that's my confession. Now back to the shopping diet!
