Prayer for a Friend

Hi Ladies,

There is so much going on in everyone's lives that I did think twice before posting, but if you have a moment could you offer up a prayer or thought for my husbands best friend. He had a heart attack last night and is in hospital in Melbourne.

You may recall earlier in the year I was fluffing over what to wear to a friend's wedding? Well this is the groom. He is in his 50's and I think it was April when they got married. She sounds like she is holding up well but they are in Melbourne and we are a couple of hours away.

We are just waiting on further word regarding how he is doing.

Your thoughts and prayers would be so appreciated.

Certainly Deborah! How scary for the new bride. That seems pretty young to suffer a heart attack. My next-door-neighbor recently had a quadruple by-pass. He blamed it on the fact that he married later in life and had been eating fast food for a long time before that!

So sorry to hear this! The recent marriage makes it all the more poignant! Recently at church a guy of a similar age had to be shocked 15 times after a heart attack and he made a full recovery!!! I will pray for that.

Thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers today. We have had news that our friend is doing well. The main artery to the heart was 90% blocked. The put in a stent (?) and he is to remain in hospital for the next 5 days where I am guessing they will decide a course of action. DH doesn't tend to ask for all the detais so that's all I know at the moment.

Oh, I'm so sorry! I hope he makes a speedy and full recovery. My father had his first heart attack before he was 50, so this is near and dear to my heart. I am sending good thoughts to your friends.

Deborah, any other news recently ?

My dad had a stent put in for a similar reason. That was 10 years ago. He is doing great. It is good news that he got help when he did.

Isabel, he has had three stents put in and should be release from hospital tomorrow or Tuesday. All is looking good at this stage. We think he may come and stay with us for a bit to relax and remain stress free as he recuperates - we live in a regional area away from the hustle and bustle of Melbourne:). Thanks so much for asking.

Wow, three stents ! He is lucky to be alive. Interstingly, life goes back to normal relatively quickly after such a major event. I am so glad that he has a place to go to relax and process for a while. The good news is that now with the stents and regular medical visite, he will live a good life.
