Thank you for posting this. Here are a few miscellaneous thoughts I had:
I was in college when Title IX was implemented. When I was a kid, there was very little for girls to do in summer. My brothers played baseball in Little League, but girls weren't allowed to play then.
I was pregnant thirty years ago. Like many women, my feet swelled and were uncomfortable. I stopped wearing heels. I concluded that wearing them didn't make me any better at my work. After my baby was born, I never went back to heels.
My attitude has probably been helped by my mother. When she was pregnant with my oldest brother, she was fired because her employer said it was improper for a pregnant woman to be working. She also sends letters to companies complaining about their sexist ads. Yes, she's still an inspiration at 92.
