Wow! You’ve never looked better. Love the Chanelesque suit (and the fringe details!), and the black and white skirt. But my fave is the teal Xmas day outfit.

Congratulations on the new role and all the best for 2019.

Gigi - thanks and I am glad you like those shoes. Whilst they are a bit higher than my normal heels, the more solid heel makes them wearable.

Shevia - so glad you like the apricot suit - I never expected to buy a suit in this colour, but anything that references Chanel is likely to be a winner for me.

Jussie - hot pink with black and white is also a favourite summer formula for me. At the beginning of this summer, I did hope to find a pink jacket because I have quite a lot of neutrals (black, white, navy) that could be made more summery with the addition of a brighter blazer.

Luck3 - the designer of these pieces is Italian and know for her tailoring, having items that fit well makes a huge difference to how they feel when worn.

Brooklyn - yes the teal dress (by Cue - of course!) had to be mine. I did not need another dress but given the colour, I just could not resist. Hoping that 2019 is a very good year for you too.

That blush suit. I have no words. You are stunning and have the best work style! I love seeing your outfits. You can do no wrong! Congratulations on the promotion!

Wow, thats really one powerful suit, fits and suits you killer, love the adition of the red bag!:-) Love the skirt, too-very elegant and you look like Marilyn Monroe in the teal dress!:-)

With your sunny climate and light colouring I think that you can wear colour with aplomb.Gorgeous outfits all,the teal dress is particularly lovely on you.

Awwwh. Really? Well, I’m flattered if I sewed a style seed in some small way. It’s YOU rocking your look. Rock on!

Kellygirl - For me, work wear is easier because I have to dress up - so tailored clothing is required. I really admire your WIWs because you always look polished and fashion forward in your more casual clothing - something that I am trying to achieve in my non-work wear with some mixed results.

Lyn67 - I went shopping to get a suit and my favourite store Cue did not have anything that hit the mark - so I decided to visit another store and felt like I hit the jackpot, particularly since it was 50% off.

Cardiffgirl - you make a very good point about my sunny climate making these brighter colours more work appropriate.

Angie - you are sowing style seeds all the time, have you seen how many of us are buying your Boden sweaters??? I am one very happy lemming.

I would hate to sow any seeds of discord, but I'm so much of a grammar nerd, it's hard to button my lip and sew it up sometimes.

Thanks FT, I’ve corrected it!

Wow, wow, wow!!!! I love both suiting combinations! It's so wonderful that as women, we can finally gain power from our femininity and no longer have to wear the tailored suit in dark colors. I'm certain these outfits are going to be wonderful additions to your already fabulous wardrobe! You look gorgeous!

You are stunning in all of these. That suit is so perfect - powerful and pretty. I once had a pale pink Dior suit (not the couture, just the moderate priced ready-to-wear) that made me feel like a million whenever I wore it, and you are reminding me. Mine was in the early 90s in finance at a major oil oil company so I stood out like a sore thumb, but I didn't care.

I echo all the Wows!. That suit, the pink blazer with the patterned skirt and the dress all absolutely gorgeous.

Dana - I still think there is a fair way to go for women in the workforce, but things have definitely improved since I started working. We have a real issue in Australia that statistically women who do the same job as men are on average paid less, we call it "the gender gap". The government is now making employers report on their progress to narrowing this gap which is at its most pronounced in senior board and management levels.

Karen13 - How great that you had your pale pink Dior and wore it with pride.

Lynn - thank you, one thing I have noticed is that most of my skirts and dresses are now below the knee and I prefer these longer lengths.

You look fantastic and I enjoyed the thread. I am at the beach, on my phone and have a fuzzy brain:)

I look forward to seeing more pics this year!!

You just look sensational in your suit.

I have been late to comment Bijou as I have been tired and feeling a bit bored by all the sorting out I am doing, which is not fun!
However I think you look stunning in all these pics. My first thought was a really well put together lawyer- I thought to check your profile and I see accountant instead but not far off. I would have confidence in you as a client- I have to see lawyers and accountants to look after our businesses and there can be an undefinable something when the female ones look just right, you have it in spades! Congratulations on your new position.
In NZ we sadly have a big gender gap as well. I am not too badly affected as female GPs are paid as well as males mostly these days and I do negotiate for myself in the second smaller job where I scored a modest pay rise. I hope to help my daughters to negotiate well for themselves but the gap is said to start soon after university and they are scared to ask. The younger one got a big rise without asking. Anyway sorry for going off topic! You look fab!

Sal - hope you are having a wonderful summer holiday.

JAileen - thanks

JenniNZ - it is funny how different professions have a certain look. No need to apologise for your comments on the gender gap. It is for these type of discussions that I love the YLF community, because in some ways how we dress can be more than just clothing. Having you as a role model would hold your girls in good stead.
