Since I appear to be on the "fill wardrobe holes asap" train before my annual budget runs out:

Yay: Bag #1
Nay: Bag #2

Advantages of 1 over 2:
Can go crossbody
Able to return if I don't like it
Buying it from authorized seller instead of ebay
"Better" designer name (supposedly)

Advantages for 2 over 1:
Patent leather is more durable than the smooth leather
Less expensive
Eyed this bag over the summer, but passed on it due to price - therefore my love for it is enduring

I really like both. Bag one is a bit more streamlined, which is my personal preference, but it sounds as if you fell in love with bag 2 a while ago, so perhaps it's time to follow your heart?-)

I find bags such a personal choice I guess I'd say go for the one that grabs you the most. In this case, it seems like #2 may be the one.

I'd pick the first one for myself, but it sounds like you prefer the second one. I'd say you can't go wrong, whichever one you choose!

And I am chuckling because every time I see the title of this post I do a double-take because I think it says "potential red FLAGS!" LOL

I like bag #2 personally. They both look great, but like the other ladies have said, it sounds like you already fell in love with #2.

They are both very nice bags. I personally prefer the second one because it is a better red for me and I find that bags with a structured bottom and less structured top to be comfortable and convenient for access. Either would be a great bag though.

i prefer the second. i'm not fond of the placement of the studs on the first bag.

Personally I prefer the second bag. I am not crazy about the studs on the first, even though I like studs.

For me it'd boil down to the color red. By the picture, #1 is more orange; #2 more blue-based. This is really a personal matter. For me, it would have to be #2, as I don't do orange well. Maybe I'd do it in a bag-- but a fun trendy inexpensive price point, not an investment one. How do you feel about the red of #1? Have you seen it in person? If not, I'd ponder how much of your lingering love for #2 had to do with the color, not just shape and other details.

I think #1 is a little more practical, but you're right, I love #2 more, even though I think it's overpriced. And I am concerned about the durability of #1 because the leather isn't that thick.

@MaryK and Kristin: LOL re: red flags. I shall have to make a post with that title soon...

@Shiny: I've seen/held both bags in person. Both of them are tomato red.

Thanks all for your input. I'm waiting for the ebay seller to respond and post a photo of the tag in bag #2. She was very good about posting other views upon request, so assuming I can confirm the bag is authentic, I'll go ahead with the purchase.

Otherwise, I'll probably continue to price stalk them both.
