So my WIW today made me think about signature or iconic outfits... you know, the ones that feel just so perfectly "me" when I put them on.

Anyway, I think it would be fun to see what each of us considers her signature outfit or outfits... I know that with some of you, I definitely have a particular outfit in my head when I think of you and I'm curious to see whether my mental image matches up with the reality.

I'll start... here are two of mine, one winter and one summer.

#1 is today's WIW, which contains all 5 of my top 5 accessories (scarf (handknit), boots, necklace, specs, hair) plus a bold, bright, organic pattern and waist cinching, all of which are very me.

#2 is a WIW from this past summer and contains many of my favorite warm weather elements. Another handknit (the top), combo of bright colors and patterns, a little flippy skirt, chunky sandals, more waist definition.

Here are two of my current signature looks. I can't believe what I am seeing here. It is a 180 degree change from what I wore a year ago as I began to really struggle with my clothes and crave a new look.

I didn't belt. I didn't wear skinny's. I didn't have any tucking boots. I wore waist surrender tops and dresses. Dresses and skirts came to the mid-thigh only. I didn't even own a pair of nude heels.

Oh my how times have changed!!

Hey, what a cool idea! I'm not sure if I have the right pics for this, but let me see.

1. Fitted, stretchy black skirt, whacks of pearls, plenty of waist definition and red. Lots of red. All of these elements are very me.
2. This all-black ensemble is dressy, texture-rich and in my neutral of choice.

3. This more casual getup features high colour contrast,, more red and a bag with plenty of tactile details to hold my interest.

4. I love colour and pattern, so this blouse is a favourite. I also love straight-leg jeans, low heels and my moto jacket.

5. And finally, my all-time favourite dress, also in a signature colour. Chunky pearls are my most common accessory, and I believe they're on display here too.

Ah, I LOVE this thread! It's like the best-of of WIW posts! Here are a few of mine.

Girl X, I took it to mean looks that achieve the style you aspire to as closely as possible. For me, it's modern and minimalist pieces, interesting colors, and feminine silhouettes.

I'm having so much fun seeing all of your signature looks! I am also really impressed that each of us seems to have a very defined and distinct style.

Also impressed that so many of you have actually posted looks that are very similar to the ones I have in my head when I think of you... specifically, I see Angie in a crisp white shirt with pearls (of course!) and fab, low heeled, edgy shoes, I see Michelle in the blue dress with red lipstick, and I see Rita in a belted pencil skirt or dress with nude shoes.

GirlX, I interpret signature style as something that represents the ideal style that I aspire to project every day, but I think you can interpret it however you want!

Here are some of mine. I feel that part of my signature look is a bit of fun, often asymmetry and I always like myself in good wide pants with a fun top! Currently I really like hats. Want to get more!

bump. I love seeing these "signature" outfits. While I feel like these are all very "me" I am going to try to tweak things a bit this fall--I feel like my uniform needs some updating!
