Thanks, ladies. I appreciate your input.

I'm wearing the Soma Vanishing Edge boy shorts now - and don't like them anymore. I used to wear them all the time, but have gone off the style. I am all about the lacy boy shorts hanky lanky now.

Angie, I was looking at the HPs and they do have a cotton version in a boyshort.

I'm a fan of Jockey French cut elance. You can do fun colors or basic black/nude.

Great thread! I usually wear Hanky Panky thongs. They are soooo comfy - and, by wearing a thong, I don't have to deal with panties that bag in the bum (my biggest challenged in finding panties! - I've never found one that doesn't have too much fabric in the bum - very frustrating!

Denver Hayes is the Mark's Work Warehouse house brand. MWWH specializes in uniforms - mostly heavy duty clothes for outdoor workers, and scrubs for health care workers, as well as jeans. They also carry footwear such as safety toe workbooks, rubber boots, and other shoes for folks who spend lots of time on their feet and good quality socks and underwear - thermal and regular. They carry a smattering of casual wear, and recently some business wear as well as nice leather sandals, shoes, and boots. Alfred Sung has designed a line for them.

Well, they make a great 95% cotton, 5% Lycra bikini (other cuts as well) and sell it at a ridiculously low price. My set of 5 came in black, tan, white with black dots, white with black floral, and Black and Tan floral on white that co-ordinates with my tan and black bras. They come out of the wash beautifully, and have held up very well. I also like the jockey product, and have several pairs of this striped one - but it is not cotton.

So many great topics today, Angie!
I second Maneera's shoutout for the good old m&s high waists.

In the U.S. I buy Commando cotton: http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/co.....tback=2394 Plain Jane but not a panty line in sight.

These Simone Pereles looked intriguing; I just ordered them to match a bra: http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/si.....tback=1415 Will report back when they arrive.

Oh, how I envy those with a flat enough tum to wear boyshorts. Anything low-rise tends to lie annoyingly on my c-section scar, so I prefer seamless high-cut briefs. It is a shame that there seem to be so few pretty options in briefs of any sort, though.

My favorites are old Vicky's Secret all-cotton low-rise bikinis from around 10 years ago. I still have a few pairs. The new batch of Gap underpants I bought this year are already in worse shape than the ancient VS ones! I like them because they fit more loosely and breathe better than tight underpants, though they do make panty lines.

The Jockey Elance bikinis look like the closest thing on the market these days. I should order some - I'm glad you all mentioned them. By their chart, I'm between sizes. I usually size up in underwear anyway, so I guess I'll try that.

It depends on what I am wearing. I like Jockey bikini panties or Hanky Panky low rise thongs.

I'm a truculent dinosaur when it comes to underwear, so I don't expect anyone to follow my lead, but I was thrilled to find Lollipop all-cotton briefs available online through the Vermont Country Store. (I hadn't seen them since the 1960s.) The leg openings are bound in bias cotton rib instead of elastic, so they are extremely confortable, especially in hot weather. I do have thinner synthetics to wear with clingy things, but most days I reach for the Lollipops (the sort of white cotton undies that prompted Hugh Grant to say to Bridget Jones, "Hello, Mummy!")

I have ought a few pairs of DKNY all lace with cotton gusset knickers at the Rack and like them very much. With the open lace, they breathe more than just cotton. I found some colors to match up with bras.

Well, only the crotch panel is cotton but I swear by these Vanity Fair underwear. They are a breathable nylon, fit well, last forever, and don't leave much VPL as long as you don't wear them tight. As you say Angie, read the rave reviews.

I buy them in size 6/Medium and wear a size 4.
