So the other wish list thread inspired me to do this: since a lot of us are looking for some particular type of items we may or may not find, we can engage the whole wonderful YLF community to help us

This is for stuff you're hoping to find, not for particular items you have already spotted. Let's keep it up to seven items per person ( I just happen to like that number :), and add some details about the item (size, material, details and so on). Then whenever one of us randomly finds something similar we can alert you

Here's mine, more for illustration than for anything else ( although it's a very valid list indeed, so do let me know if you find something :

1. A nice pair of premium trouser jeans, super dark uniform wash (no whiskering, bleaching and such), slightly higher rise, a bit of stretch, probably size 27

2. Skinny charcoal corduroys, medium rise, leg opening 14", probably size 27

3. LS stretch cotton shirtdress in black and/or dark purple, XS

4. LS boyfriend cardigan, 32-34"long, black or charcoal or dark purple, wool/silk/cashmere, XS-S

5. LS tie-neck simple shirt/blouse, cotton, black or purple, XS

6. Grey patent wedges, simple slip on style, max wedge height 2.5", size 8-8.5

7. Black leather wedge ankle boots (only to be worn under pants), simple style, wide-stable wedge, height 1.5-2.5", size 7.5-8

Looking forward to seeing your list and hopefully spotting some items from there

This is a great idea, Tanya! Here's my list:

1. Cream straight leg jeans, size 6 or 28/29. 14" or 15" inch leg opening, ≥8.5" front rise, 13.5" back rise, tonal stitching, no embellishments. (Although, if you find straight leg cream jeans at all, I'd be willing to take a look at them).

2. Dark denim straight leg jeans, size 6 or 28/29. 14" or 15" inch leg opening, ≥8.5" front rise, 13.5" back rise, tonal stitching, no embellishments.

3. Tweed jacket/blazer. Black and white, "Chanel look." Size 8 (or 40 in FR sizing). No puffy sleeves, and 3/4 or long would be preferred.

4. Funky, edgy pearl necklaces and rings. Faux is totally fine, but I'd like to stick to cream colored (mixed pearl and other materials is okay, too).

5. Lightweight, cream colored trench coat. I'd be open to any suggestions, but I'd like to keep the length about mid-thigh (not short or cropped), and the styling fairly tailored. It would be nice if it looked good buttoned and open. Long sleeves. Size 8/Medium.

6. A watch with a cream leather strap and goldtone case--chunkier styling preferred.

I love this! Here are my 'top seven':

1. Knee-high leather boots with a pointy or almond toe, in a chestnut/reddish brown color with a 1-2" heel. Must be 8-hour comfortable! These would be to wear over jeans. I don't think I'm too picky about details, but they need to be beautifully designed! Size 9M

2. White jeans - I'm a little late on this trend, but I'd like some now! They need to have at least a 35" inseam for flats. Size 6, or 29-waist

3. A white leather flat tote. I think I'd like this to be rather simple, but again, beautiful in it's proportions. I'm wary of styles that are big at the bottom and taper to a flatter top, since I am a pear and the bottoms of such bags don't look as good to me when they hit around my hips.

4. Frames for new specs - i'm not sure what shape I need to get, but I love the thicker frames with bold colors.

5. Sunglasses - Darker lenses with 100% UVA and UVB protection, in a bold color (not black) with thicker frames.

6. Long sleeved sweater dress that I could wear to work or dress up for dinner with the DH. I'd be open to any color or cut, but the size needs to be in tall - small, 0, or 2.

7. A red cashmere pashmina.

How fun. All of your wishlist items have given me ideas of what I will be looking for.

1. Grey straight leg jeans. Preferably True Religion "Johnny" straight leg, as they fit me the best, but I haven't seen them come out with any grey yet. I need them to be low rise (as I have a very small butt) with high pockets and no distressing. Size 27.

2. Another pair of straight leg jeans, again preferably TR "Johnny" straight leg, but with a very dark wash and a contrast stitching. I saw my friend with a pair of dark jeans with white stitching and I liked the look and thought it was very slimming. Size 27.

3. Brown or black leather boots. Must be flat or close to flat, and I must be able to tuck my jeans into them. Not too much embellishment and not too sporty. Size 8 and $150 or under. (I love Frye's boots but I just can't spend $300 on boots. How is La Canadienne's pricing?).

4. Long statement necklace. I really like the idea of pearls a la Carrie Bradshaw, but everything I see is either really expensive or really fake. If not pearl, I love turquoise but preferably with silver, not gold.

5. A short peacoat that must be very soft (not too stiff or itchy). No puffy or stiff shoulders. Everything I see is not soft enough for me, so maybe I need suggestions on where to look or what kind of material to look for. A wool blend? Colorwise, I'm thinking either cream, black, or maybe even a statment color like turquoise or pink (NO red. I must be the only person on this forum who does not like red). Size 4 or 6, S or M.

6. A grey sweater dress to be worn with black leggings and flats/boots. Soft wool/silk/cashmere or blend. No crewneck - V neck is my preference, which deemed very limiting last season and which is why I am still on the search this season.

7. A really nice black leather - could be patent - bag. I would like it to have some sort of detailing/interest, perhaps with the hardware, which I would like to keep silver. This may be my big investment piece. I love bags and have quite a few, but surprisingly, not a black one. I need that one perfect, chic black bag that goes with everything and makes me look like a million bucks.

2) A black three-season wool jacket, one button style, something that is perfectly fitting and less boxy than the one I already own. Preferably with a white striped lining or lining other than black, so if I roll the sleeves up it has added interest. Actually.... I may be wanting two separate jackets... one that is like a Theory classic jacket that hits at high hip; the other more menswear-inspired, longer, to wear with skinnies, that I can roll the sleeves. Will have to think about that!

I did really like the jacket with the grey trim that Angie scored at NAS; alas, when I looked at the measurements, it seemed way too long for someone as short as I am.

3) A cashmere 3/4 length coat, probably camel. An investment piece in a classic cut, something I can wear for years and years because it'll never go out of style.

Those are my top three, and they are all items I wanted last year. The rest are more vaguely formed, at this point in time:

4) Tops/sweaters to go with my skinny jeans. Have no idea what that will be!

5) Other jackets I can wear with jeans. I started building my jacket collection last year. I want to continue. Wearing a jacket adds structure and interest to my whole look, which I like very much.

6) Pretty blouses to wear under the jackets. I have never seen so many choices in blouses; I want to snap up as many as I can before the minimalist trend comes back around.

My requirement for blouses: silk or silk-like; flattering colors that pop under a jacket; patterns are good; neckline that is a bit higher but still flattering (I do best with V-necks and low scoop necks, but as I age I am finding I want to cover my cleavage more, to protect from the sun).

7) Toss-up between fun, colorful pumps; scarves for that european look; and a statement bag in either black (I also don't have a black one, Lissy!) or emerald green. Oh, and tights. I definetly need new ones. And cardis in the colors of the season.....

Ack... my list is too long and vague, I'm afraid! I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around the idea of Fall quite yet... I will refine more later, as I see what is in the shops.

These are great lists! Stylish, hip and to fashion persona and lifestyle. We'll start seeing how winter weather varies in different parts of the world through what people choose to buy.

My list is always long in Autumn and Winter. This is what I wear most of the year. I’ve been trying to get and replace some of the items for years. Shoes are always a challenge. Here we go:

o Cream snake skin ankle boots with a 1-2 inch heel
o Chestnut slouchy knee-high boots for black skinnies (flat)
o Grey patent booties (1-2 inch heel)
o Fitted, cream casual parka, to the knee (any fur must be faux)
o Any amount of jumpers and cardigans, nothing chunky. All lengths, colours and silhouettes. Tunics too. No pure wool.
o Below the knee Winter skirts (would love to get my hands on red tartan)
o Winter dresses
o False plain coat. Must be to the knee. Most styles are too short.
o Printed lightweight cashmere pashminas to wear as scarves
o Red handbag (mine started falling apart this year)

My list is short, for reasons that I've stated elsewhere.
o Miss Sixty Eden straight jeans - I loved them the first time I saw Angie include them in a post
o Dark purple or dark berry handbag
o Dark brown boots to go with the above jeans
o Coat of some sort

I haven't actually thought too much about this since we have almost 3 months of summer left but here goes:

o sweaters including fitted basic ones, cardigans, tunics
o dark wash bootcuts to wear with heels; I may replace my skinnies for tucking and I may get another pair of dark wash straight legs if tempted
o cream skinnies (any thoughts on the idea of tucking them into black boots?)
o winter dress
o knee high dress boot (probably) or some other boot
o booties - not sure what style, maybe snakeskin (although Angie's cream snakeskin ankle boots sound nice)
o colorful scarves/pashminas - cobalt, lime, winter white
o something purple
o jacket (maybe a blazer; I've got a black pinstripe one)

I'm not sure what to do about casual shoes. Okay so my list ended up being longer than 7 even though I said I hadn't thought about it. I guess I'm just not very specific yet.

Love this idea Tanya! I will post my wish list later tonight, although it will be harder for me to actually buy the items you guys might find for me. But it will be great to at least consider everything and I will get lots of inspiration out of this, that's for sure.

Question: if we find something from one of the lists, do we post it in this thread or should we start a separate thread each time?

I noticed some of you are looking for pashminas - I am too, but I want a few beautiful printed ones, I've got enough plain ones for now, printed pashminas are harder to come by aren't they? - you can find good quality pashminas on: http://www.thepashminastore.com/ (mostly plain ones, but they have a few animal prints too).

Ana, about the pearl jewelry: do you prefer silver/white gold or yellow gold? And do you like clean lines for jewelry or would you also consider more ornate, 'baroque' pieces, vintage stuff etc.?

The Summer sale is still going on, but I think the fall/winter collection will be up shortly. I've heard the quality is excellent, they only have a few coats each year, but there's usually a classic camel cashmere one available, so who knows...

I'll stop for now, but I really enjoy looking around for other people, it's like shopping without spending all the money;-) So I'll undoubtedly be back with more soon...

My list:
1. 3/4 or elbow length sleeve tops long enough for pants/jeans that do not require dry cleaning.
Clear but not bright colors are best and I prefer plain or false plain to prints unless it's a print I really love. I haven't tried the tunic length yet, but it seems overwhelming. Tops need a fairly high neckline and need to define the waist to give this rectangle some shape.

2. Jackets, probably short but not trapeze, to wear over tops.
One or two button (but I'm not sure) Chanel look intrigues me, but I've no idea until I try it. Question..Are jean jackets still a good option? denim in a different cut? I need to make some black and some dark brown pants look more smart casual. In my mind I'm picturing a peplum dark wash denim jacket.

3. Really comfortable flats in colors. They must have a soft foot bed and arch support. I will need to add my own insert to one shoe on top of that.

4. Ankle boots in dark red with wedge heel.

5. A go-with-everything trench that can be dressed up or down (so probably black) and long enough for skirts.

6. Black patent bag (or mix of leather and patent) about 13" X 8" X 3" or 4"

7. Jackets and belts to change the look of a little black sheath dress.
Cardies are OK if structured enough.

I'm so inspired by reading all the other lists, I may have to make modifications to mine Here's what I'm on the lookout for as of now:
*straight leg jeans
*a casual blazer
*sweaters - cardigans, basic and tunics to wear with straight leg jeans
*knee high boots to wear with skirts
*A line denim skirt and a tweed skirt
*tops of all kinds
*casual dress for fall/winter
*ballet flats for fall to wear with jeans and skirts

I can guarantee that this list will change over the coming months!

Wow, thanks for the responses do far! It is so inspiring to read your lists, although also a bit dangerous, makes you crave a lot of things you did not even know you wanted

Inge, thanks for the great link, particularly for the pashminas, I'll certainly get a couple from there. It would probably be better if we posted our finds as separate threads, so that people can see them easier and that way we could keep it somewhat organized

Will do Tanya. And here's my list. Like Angie, I wear Autumn/Winter clothes for a good part of the year, and since I'm rebuilding my wardrobe, I need lots of things.
I prefer cool colours, and am liking the teals and purples, love green too.

o Riding style boots, knee-high, black and a darker brown, with a bit of a heel.
o Dressier boots, knee-high, maybe in burgundy, chestnut or cognac, chunky heel, 2 1/4 inches maximum, sleek & elegant look.
o Winter coat (hoping the Soïa & Kyo winter line will have something for me), to the knee or just above, warm!, interesting details (collar, buttons...), a false plain would be great, or a cool colour (would I be brave enough to wear a raspberry red coat?), no black.
o LS fitted jackets/blazers to wear with trousers and skirts.
o Cardigans and sweaters, for skirts and trousers, 3/4 or long sleeves, preferably with some interesting details, a few fun colours, cashmere and merino wool are good, not sure about prints.
o On the knee or below the knee Winter A-line and pencil skirts, definitely looking for a great tweed one.
o On the knee or below the knee Winter dresses, still trying to find a great wrap dress, empire waist works too, or maybe a straighter cut (but not tight). 3/4 or long sleeves.
o A ruffled blouse (for the naughty secretary in me), I don't look good with tops tucked in, so something that works untucked.
o Leather (biker) jacket, lined for warmth, brown or an interesting shade of grey, green or purple. No black, it's too harsh against my face.
o Printed cashmere pashminas to wear as scarves.
o Dark wash straight leg jeans (just can't seem to find the right ones).
o Dark wash skinny jeans to tuck into boots.
o Some other winter trousers, haven't determined a style yet.
o Burguny, dark purple or dark red handbag.

Wow, you ladies are so organized and specific, that's great. I hadn't thought too much about fall yet (esp. since we really haven't had too much of a summer yet), though the Nordstrom sale definitely kick started it.

My "must buy" list:

* jeans, at least one pair of dark blue denim, either straight or moderate bootcut
* black boots, moderate heel, slim and sleek, a "basic", to wear with skirts and everything else
* dress pants for professional occasions; they'll have to go with my new Semantiks jacket

My "I'm hoping to buy" list:

* at least one long cardigan (no wool whatsoever), flexible on the color, considering fuchsia, red, blue, green (and maybe also a black one)
* Oxfords or other booties to wear with pants, black or grey
* a tie-neck blouse (hoping that the fuchsia one from Fossil I ordered will work out)
* a tote bag for fall (haven't thought yet about color and material)

My "I can get tempted" list:

* a coat (I have a black basic wool coat; something in a tweed or other more interesting fabric/color would be nice)
* fall flats in fuchsia and/or grey
* fall skirts, pencil or A-line (no specific colors in mind, though grey would be nice)
* layering tops

And of course I'm always keeping an eye out for fun scarves and earrings.

Forgot one for the "I can get tempted" list:
* a cropped leather jacket

Hmmm. There are always so many items I want, so here are a few:

1. Straight leg dark wash jeans (size 27)

2. Ruffled blouse (in a rich fall color such as teal; XS or S, depending on brand)

3. Tie-neck blouse (same as above)

4. Black patent bag (see my thread; no bling, studs; large but not huge)

5. Black boots (size 9, prefer a pointy toe and a heel height of 2 1/2 to 3 inches, no platform-type detail. Need these to wear under jeans, so they should come to bottom of my calf. I already have knee-high black boots.)

6. Delicate silver layering necklaces (I like the look of several thin silver necklaces in different "patterns" and lengths.)
