Post your breezy dresses for the hottest summer days here

Several of us from the southern hemisphere are looking for summer dresses for those really hot days (like over 35degree c)
I'd love to see some suggestions if anyone has found one.

My prerequisites would be
* woven fabric
* sleeveless
* no collar
* floaty (much as I love waist details etc this is NOT the time for them!)

Here is the ONE dress I have (I do have another one for wearing around the house).

I wish I had duplicated it in other colours even though I'm not much of a duplicate girl (it only cost me $10)

Hey Anne,

Do you have Just Jeans in Australia? Saw a nice tunic style dress there in an black and white Aztec print this morning.

The first two are Eileen Fisher and a perfect weight. The last is a skirt and Sweet Pea top, both of nylon mesh, a fabulously cool fabric

Anne I have bought 4 new dresses for summer (yet to be worn). I have a phone pic of one when I was trying so e styling options at home. It's an Esprit dress, black and white small floral with black panels doe the side. It's a soft floaty fabric and I the pic I have added my sleeveless jacket.

I'm late. Trying to catch up after my break. I can't wear all those floaty/synthetic fabrics in summer - they just feel way too hot & sticky. I also like sleeves for sun protection, so I don't find much at all. In our winter bought a couple of linen dresses on sale from Europe they are not online now though. If I see anything will let you know

I don't like polyester in the hottest weather either - in fact I would have included that in the list above, but I forgot. My floaty I meant not structured

I have loads of them, I don't have pics though. So, here are two of my breeziest ones that qualify your criteria The first one is from ninewest (It's a sleeveless and 100% rayon) and the second from Mango (linen).

I am not sure if they are still available but you could probably have a look see.

Anne, I just checked out Birdsnest.com. There are two sleeveless, floaty dresses in "just landed". One is by Vigorella and the other by Very Very. They are taupe. I didn't look any further so there might be more.

Good idea Anne. You will find something if you persevere and we still have a little grace before the scorchers begin in earnest.
It was 39 here yesterday and in low 20's today. You must have experienced that earlier this week. Fortunately I didn't pack away any of my warm clothes back in October like I usually do. Sandals one day, sheepskin booties the next. These massive temperature fluctuations are hard on the body though. I feel wiped out.
I'd love to hear what you think of Birdsnest's offerings.

Neel - what is viscose like in the heat? I am seeing a lot of it online at the moment.

Peggy - Unfortunatly I am not a fan of taupe on myself - my skin is olive and it doesn't go to well. Birdsnest had some nice stuff but it is a bit over my price range.

And yes, you're right. The real scorchers aren't due for another month at least. And apart from a 10 day close down from Christmas, I'll be working most of summer in AC.

I added the one dress I do own that is suitable to the top of the thread. So long as there aren't too many hot days in a row, I might be alright with just the one, but if I can find one that is suitable it would give me a little leeway.

Oooh, it's gorgeous.
It's a different look altogether from your other white dress so it's not as though you'd be repeating.

Anne .. the viscose clothes are *cheaper* rayon as far as I know! I think the higher end rayon looks more rich. I think comfort wise both are the same and breathable.
