I don’t think we’ll go back to the way things were in 2019. I think some changes will be permanent. My tech/software kids and hubby have been told a full return to the office may never happen. Their companies have done well despite remote work and office rents are crazy high around here...a smaller footprint with alternating days for employees might be very cost-efficient.
I personally hope masks stick around for some situations...plane travel, flu season. But I’m a germaphobe from way back...I’ve had a PURELL in every bag and in every car for years LOL.
Outdoor dining became huge around here too during the pandemic, and this is a cold part of the country. While we didn’t dine out (or in), restaurants set up space heaters, igloos, fire pits, and closed down some roads so tables could be set up outside for diners. It’s been kind of neat seeing the innovation that comes out of difficult times. That’s the silver lining of the pandemic, I guess.
