Possible Pear?

Hello all!

Love this website! Hope you can help me identify my body type. I've included a side shot to show that I have a tummy. These are my NYDJ jeans that seem to enhance my roundness rather than smushing it. I don't wear them much!

As far as sizes, not sure if I wear a smaller size on top. At ATL I wear size 6 bottoms and Small or XSmall tops.

Hi Chelle and welcome to the forum! I’m glad you’re enjoying our site.

I wish I could see your silhouette a little better. The angle of the camera seems to be distorting my perception. By the looks of it you tend towards the pretty pear body type, but it could be the lens angle. Care to take more photos?

You don’t look pear shaped at all. Thanks for taking another pic! You are a slim hour glass. Do you wear a bigger size on the bottom than on top?

I think I wear basically the same size on top and bottom. I have a bad tendency to buy my bottoms a size too big. I'm working on buying the right size for me.

At ATL I wear size 6 pants but have to alter the waist. Wish I could find a brand that did not need to be altered! I wear a Small or Xsmall dependending on the cut of the top.

Yup. Hourglass for sure. I was thinking that you could down a size in your jeans. Good for you for noticing!

Thanks for taking a look, Angie! I'll be looking over your hourglass recommendations. I have been checking out all of my pants. They all seem to be about a size too big. I guess I have comfort issues!

hi Chelle, welcome to the group.

I agree that your pants are a size too big. I think this is a common mistake women make--thinking that looser clothes will make us look smaller--because we feel smaller if our pants are loose.

You know, I think I had the opposite problem. I was wearing my pants too tight because I kept hearing about how women wear their pants too big, and pants/jeans grow, etc. I started sizing up to a 27 and it's so much more comfortable.

Thanks for the welcome and for the advice, ladies! I have learned so much from all of you by reading your questions and answers. I'm always amazed at your wisdom, honesty, and kindness.

I'm still having issues with fit and I appreciate Maya and Nicole sharing their insights. Muequita and eternalvoyager - thanks for the body shape assessment. At least I know that part now!
