Possible outfit: red on red?

OK I tried this combination. Red jacket + red corduroy. The reds are almost, if not the same, no problem for the colour. But what do you think? Could I wear them together?

You look SO amazing in red. Wow.

But to me, this is too much of a muchness. It would work if one item were patterned with red, I think.

I think it is too much together. I think the pieces look stronger separately, and together, their awesomeness is kind of halved or something.

Hmm.I like it the way it is, personally. I think if you separate the pieces, its not going to have the same impact. Love the hair too!

I just adore your recent purchases. You are looking especially beautiful lately, your posts have been real treats.
As Suz said, this may be too much red. I wonder if it would be different if your top was red and the outer layer a different color? You're right, the reds are pretty much the same but it may be too much of a good thing. The style and fit of these garments are perfection. You must be having some fun buying for your 'new' life:-)

I think this a really personal one - for me it would be too much - I would't feel right in this much bright colour. If you love it I say go for it, you look really fantastic in red.

I thinks red on red with so much surface area is a bit in your face, and I think only works well at the gym or running! Infact to me, even your shoes have taken on a reddish hue! sorry!

Personally I love red, so I'd say it's not too much, but I would add some strong pattern and texture - shoes, handbag, scarf - to break it up a bit. These are beautiful pieces and they fit you so well.

I'm afraid it looks like too much to me, and you lose the style and impact of one red item.

Try each piece with some other approach such as either color blocking with other bold colors (that would be bold, for me) or jacket with column of neutral, pants with tone-on-tone top and jacket (safer option). You can still pick up a pop of red in an accessory with either of those approaches. But, great of you to use photos to try out combos--that really helps hone in on the elements to emphasize.

Everybody, these are very very useful comments, and great suggestions. I will try both paring them with separate items, and also together but with a statement, bold accessory, as Missvee suggests, just to see. Although now, looking at the pics, I agree, too much of a good thing, it kills the surprise.

at first i thought, wow, that's a lot of red. but for some reason, when i got to pictures 3 &4 where the jacket was zipped, and there was nothing breaking up the red, i started to like it. i think in 1 & 2, it felt like you were unsure of the look, and the white and black top was breaking up the look. but in 3 & 4, you are owning the look, and i like it.

I like it, too! I think #4 with strong accessories would work just fine. You look so fab in red, and in almost everything else you have shown her lately! I admire your strong determination to get well again, that is so impressive. Let lots of red be your celebration of the fabulous you:)
