Possible Holiday Party Outfit? Edited to add new photos

Hello, YLF Lovelies! I'm trying to come up with an outfit for 2 parties next week. I realize this is only one outfit, but it's a start...I know the ankle length probably causes poison eye for many or most, but I bought these yellow/gold Sloan ankle pants and am hoping to make an outfit for the holidays! The SA at Banana Rep insisted these look great on me, I hope she wasn't lying to make a sale, because I fell for it. My daughter really liked them, too, so I'm hoping that's a good sign...

Hm, I like the pants, but I'm not crazy about the length + booties... maybe pumps instead?

Gorgeous outfit, Carole! I love that top on you with the jacket and the addition of the bracelet is terrific.

I also love the colour of the pants on you.

I'm not sure about the length. You certainly have the leg length to handle the shorter trouser and I like the idea of them with the booties, but these particular booties do leave a gap and I agree with Emily that it looks a bit odd.

What other footwear options do you have to try?

I like this outfit on you best with the leopard flats. I think they add a fun, casual note that complements the ankle length pants. Great colours!

I like the pants either with the leopard loafers, or the booties in #3. Or with another lighter pair of booties you might own? I think they do look great on you, but like them with more skin or light color on your feet.

I definitely like 7 the best, followed by 3. Are you committed to wearing all black up top? Maybe the textures just aren't reading well on the computer, but it's feeling a little business-y for a holiday party. Maybe a statement necklace could add some sparkle?

I like the low-vamp booties or the leopard print loafers best... and I think Rae's statement necklace idea is solid

I like the last three pairs of footwear the best.

#1 is not appearing for me. The booties in #3, well, not so much. But I have to confess to having a poison eye for those V-shaped openings.

I do love the idea of mustard-coloured pants though.

I love ankle pants! I like this look best with flats and sheer hose/bare legs. They look great on you with both the black and leopard print flats, and I prefer the leopard print. They also look good in the sandals, if it's warm where you live. The pants do fit you very well!
It is cold where I live, so in the winter I wear my ankle pants with long (knee high or almost knee high) boots.

Wow, thanks for the great feedback you guys. Seems the leopard flats are ahead, I like those the best, too, but thought they didn't seem very holiday-ish...

Missvee, Thanks! I was wearing the leopard flats when I tried these pants on at the store, thats probably what sold me, but I was hoping to be able to wear the booties, too. That's what the model is wearing in the advertisements, but somehow it doesn't look the same on me, big surprise, huh?!

Thanks, Jonesy. It would be nice to be able to wear those booties, I don't wear them often. I show a big gold bracelet in the 1st photo, and planned to wear that (I inadvertently hide the photo when I added the latest photos) and a dangly pair of gold stone earrings...I should have posted pictures of those too, darn.

Rae-Thanks, I have other things I could wear with the gold pants....I have an emerald green waist surrendering blouse or a plum colored blouse, I should post pictures of those as well, thanks for helping me think outside the black box.

Emily-thanks for chiming back in...do you think the bracelet in 1 is enough bling with the earrings?

JR thanks for your honesty, I know the booties take a little getting used to, they really aren't my favorite (or my husband's) but they are comfortable. I rather like the strappy fancy sandal but it's very uncomfortable.

Ceit, Thanks!-How about a big bracelet, I have one of those that seems perfect for this outfit!

I like the look overall, but I'd add some sparkle somewhere to make it a bit more festive...maybe a necklace or stack of bracelets?

Karie-I just missed your post! Thanks for liking ankle pants, sometimes I feel like I'm an island. You have given me some good tips and I guess I should try these with taller boots, too.

Nancylee- Thank you, I wish I had put the big bracelet I was wearing in 1 back on when I took the other photos. That's what I plan to wear, it's very big and blingy, seems like the right accessory for this outfit.

I like the pants with the booties in #3, the leopard print loafers in #7 and the booties in #8. The sparkly bracelet is perfect for a party. Maybe a necklace too to go with the bracelet?

I like #3 - the v-cut in the shootie lengthens the leg line to my eye. Those pants are a very cool color.

I like the colour of the pants. They could have been a little longer but it works at this length as well. 1,4,5 and 7 work for me. How about teaming mustard with burgundy or navy?

Well it looks like the animal print loafers and low vamp booties are in the lead with the leopard slightly ahead. I'm leaning more to the booties as the loafers just seem a little more casual and sparkly jewelry doesn't seem to lend itself to those as well IMO.

Sarah and Asingh, thanks, I was surprised that I have so many things that work with this color. Definetly need to try burgundy. Love the idea of navy too.

Lisa. Thanks, feels better to get some positive feedback on the trousers. Just a tad out of my comfort zone so that helps a lot.
