Possible candidate for summer skirt? ETA Update with pictures

I've noticed this white skirt with light grey stripes at Boden and I really like it. It's not a full skirt, but if the fit works out I can imagine wearing this with absolutely everything on top. I also like that this is not solid white, slightly a line and cotton. The length should end just at my knees when I order the tall size.

It's seersucker or at least from what I see from the image, just the way the cotton is striped. This is great for summer. I love the classic lines and it's usability.

I like the look of the fabric. It looks like it would be a good addition to your wardrobe. I didnt look at the length measurement. What would the tall size measure?

Kalli, it's called grey stripes. Not sure if it is seersucker, but I'd like that. You're right that this is very classic. And with pockets, I love skirts with pockets.

Thanks Diane. The tall size is 56cm long, 22 inches? But I'm only 160cm/5' 3" tall, so I think it would be long enough on me. I don't like the length in the stock picture, that would be too short for me.

Agreed, the photo shows it too short, but 22" sounds perfect. you should go for it.

You and me both Astrid, I have a long story about how I got mad at J Crew for changing the design of a dress because it used to have pockets and now it doesn't! Why don't clothing companies understand that women like pockets! That's definitely a key feature I look for.

i love subtle stripes that give the look of off-white. More interesting, more flattering to skin tones sometimes. I agree, you could wear that with everything!

This could actually resolve to light grey - is that one of your good colors? I wouldn't think of this as any kind of white skirt at all.

Astrid, that's a lovely skirt. I think the length should be fine as well. I'm 5feet 2 and 22 inches is fine for me.

Thank you all for your input! I've ordered it in two sizes and I found a code for free shipping, so I haven't lost money if it doesn't work out.

Vildy, I do like light grey. I like grey in general and it goes well with everything IMO. I don't want a true white skirt at all costs, I just wanted to go lighter in general with my new purchases. If this would end up looking more light grey than white from afar I would be alright with that.

Thanks Harmonica. Too bad they don't ship to Norway! I like the blue too, it looks like a great denim skirt that's 'the typical denim skirt', if you know what I means. But I really don't need another denim bottom, so it was the grey stripes for me. I'm going to post pictures when I get it.

They arrived today and unfortunately they will be going back. I do like the color and the stripes and the length is good too, but the pleats on the waistband just look bad, especially in the back. And the fabric is fairly thin, so visible muffin top and all.

The denim one has less stretch, so it might be different. And I think this cut would be better for someone with less hips and rear, the pleats might work better then. Not sure.

I think you're right, the skirt should go back - sorry! It looks like kind of an awkward shape, not really a pencil skirt but not much of an a-line either.

I have not had a lot of luck with Boden, the clothes seem very well made for the price point but the fit is really inconsistent.

Yes, you're right! It's a strange mix. I think the pleats would work if the skirt were fuller, but they just look odd combined with the cut it has. I have that one striped shirt from Boden that's great, but nothing else worked out for me either so far. Maybe I should stop trying. It's just that I love the colors and prints they have. And they are one of the few retailers I'm able to order from that do petite sizes or different lengths.
