I ordered the larger size of popover last night. *crossing my fingers it fits this time*
I do have a polka dot blouse with much smaller dots that this was intended to replace. The blouse passes the husband filter when layered underneath something so the dots are less prominent. I really am motivated to make this top work - in my head, I can see it being worn with the blue halogen skirt and my black waist belt.
The cognac is a brighter color and has different colored hardware, as you can see in this thread below:

This morning, I'm feeling it isn't sensible to keep both when I don't know how well these jackets are going to wear or their workhorse potential. I'm concerned the stretchy ribbing fabric at the side may fade/pill after a year and I'd need to replace the jacket anyway. Eventually, I'd probably want to upgrade to an all pleather jacket that would last a little longer.
My strategy will be:
1) Just wear the black jacket for now and hold off on the cognac. See how it feels after a few uses.
2) Try styling the cognac jacket with a few outfits and see how easy it is to make it work.
