Poop-a-doop, summer is over in Seattle

We've had an amazing if atypical summer in Seattle. But it looks to be over

At least it lessens the blow of being on call for the long holiday Labor day weekend coming up.
I even called my local ski shop today to see when I should come in to try on ski boots. They said soon.

Buahahaha! I clicked on this thread just to see who used the term "poop-a-doop." Love it. I think I'll use this term, but in secret, or I could never get my DS to stop saying it!

That said --- "Well hells bells, Summer's just a gettin' het up here in the heartland!" We've been sunny, but blissfully cool this season. But the humid, heavy air is back, along with a chorus of cicadas loud enough to rival any heavy metal band!

Hope you get to hike in Autumn, too!

Well not to make you feel bad or anything... but as I got out of my car this morning at work, I experienced this strange sensation! I vaguely recalled it but couldn't quite place it... and then I remembered.... 'warmth', the sun gently shining upon me lol It's nearly Spring

It is definitely warmer here in WA too. Bit of a worry in a way - I usually think of August as the coldest month and September pretty much part of winter.

We have had a ridiculously mild winter here and now summer is definitely on it's way - as I type this, I have switched off the heaters that warm my office, cracked another window and removed my cardigan.

I'm having a crazy year-- we had blazing hot, now unusually rainy--- plus, as it is cooling down in CO, I'm commuting 3 days a week to another state which is still blazing hot!

If it helps, you aren't the only one on call over Labor Day weekend. My community has a big event (that the locals hate and don't attend) over it every year, which means my guy works all but 3 days in the the next two weeks, including the entire holiday weekend, which is also my birthday. FYI, he works 12s-- at a certain point no amount of overtime pay makes up for the fact all you do is work and sleep!

I just got home from Nova Scotia, and it was even quite warm up there! But it cools off nicely at night, and it's not humid as a dog's mouth, so I'll take it.

I LOVE sweater weather! And halloween makes me completely giddy. I've recently started hopping around, pointing out excitedly that it's starting to get chilly in the mornings, and mentioning that we're fast approaching the best time of year. My SO I'm pretty sure wants to throttle me. Ha ha ha.
