Ponchos for petites?

I have two ponchos that I love, but they are pretty voluminous. I am searching for something a little more like this one - and if this wasn't so expensive, I'd probably just buy it. I love the straighter silhouette and the fringe. It almost looks like a shawl.

Has anyone seen this more fitted poncho style around?

I think part of the problem is that they tend to be "one size fits all" things. As you've seen, some overwhelm me and I'm 5'7" and not exactly a tiny delicate flower.

The AT poncho actually comes in sizes -- I tried on the M and think I easily could have gotten away with the smaller size, but I am quite short in the torso. I wonder if looking for ones that are actually *sized* may help narrow things down?

I am your height, 5'1", right? and I have square shoulders. I'm super happy with the one I got yesterday (AT, see other post). I have a cashmere one on the way from the Rue La La flashsite that is, probably, a bit shorter, and from the photograph, will tend to hug in at the elbow rather than tent out from my shoulders. I think that is going to be the key, at least for me.

(Regarding Rue La La, I think I like that site, because they put the clothes on a standard model, and you can do a good comparison between items.)

I love that one, actually, Una. I am not really a poncho person at all but the skull one is very cool and streamlined. I think smaller women (both shorter and just generally small boned) have to be careful with these bigger unstructured items.

Janet, thanks! The AT one looks perfect but they charge an EXTRA $20 for shipping here, which is why I don't shop there at all...

It's these. I'm suuuuper bummed that they are too big. Really good high waist, nice soft material, and will actually stay put on us. They were final sale over spring; I followed advice to size up, should've known better -_- I can post them on me for you to see tonight or tomorrow.

Right there's that too. I thought I was picking the size I would end up in, sized up as per reviews. I actually have them in the size up from THAT, too, just in case (some body dismorphia issues there). Now am kicking myself for not just ordering one size on either side!

Someone, sorry I cannot remember who, posted about the cashmere ponchos at...Costco. I picked one up last week to try even though they look quite small in the package. I am petite and last night I finally opened it up and it is perfect. Worth a try perhaps. They come in a box in case you decide to look the price is just under $30.
