Despite the fact that I have been stocking up on scarves, I have to vote team necklace because right now it's too hot for scarves. Very hard to choose though!!
I too am scarf impaired. I am stumped about how to tie them and they go all wonky on me. I sometimes even struggle with necklaces. For a long time I didn't like anything around my neck but I am overcoming it--team necklace.
Necklace. I love scarves but if they aren't the right shape they can be hard to incorporate. Necklaces sort of do what they do and are easier in that regard.
Necklaces, no contest here either. I have only two scarves and they're both heavy wool to use with my winter coat. I don't like the feeling of having too much material draped around my neck or falling down my front.
We only have 3 months of good weather here and nothing adds interest to the same old coats day in and day out like an assortment of scarves! Maybe when I retire to Cosat Rica I will join Team Necklace...
Tam, you can't choose both because I'm being big mean Angie and I want you to choose ONE :0) I guess most of us would say both if that was an option - me included!
I'd say it's almost an even split - more people on Team Necklace so far.
Oh you cruel woman!!
Necklaces are relatively new to me, pearl necklaces a bit newer still, but already my wardrobe couldn't function without them anymore. And I love them so dearly, but that's also the case with all my scarves.
Sooooo (because I own more of them, and I've been sporting them for a longer time) scarves it is!
FYI: as not to play favourites, I'm going to wear a scarf and a necklace tomorrow. There!-)
Oooh, this one's a toughie. Even though I don't have too many of either, I am really trying to get the hang of scarves. I love how they add wonderful textural interest to any outfit, not to mention they manage to look chic or urban as the need may be. For now though, I'm going to bat for team necklaces.
This past year I've been Team Scarves all the way! And I also discovered I really like bigger ones (approximately 80 x 30 or so). I love enveloping myself in softness; it allows me to brave the produce and refrigerator sections of the grocery store; it's another opportunity to add cheerful color and vertical dimension.
(I do know for sure that necklaces will be next, hehee )
I used to be on Team Scarf, especially when I lived in Europe. I hardly ever wore necklaces either - I was all about bracelets and earrings when it came to jewelry, with my pearls the one exception. But for the past 10 years or so, I've been solidly on Team Necklace.
I have to vote for Team Scarves because it was one of my first "upgrades" after starting my YLF journey. I couldn't go out and get a new wardrobe, but I could afford a few pretty scarves and I love how warm they are in chilly Seattle. Plus, like Joy mentioned, it helps with the whole bony chest issue.
Also, I seem to be lacking the jewelry gene- I just never think to buy necklaces.
Just look how late I am to this thread. Scarves have been fabulous whilst my girls were at the grabbing stage but I have had a life long love affair with necklaces and I'm so excited to be wearing them again.
Therefore I'm 100% team necklaces.
Angie we could tie our scarves together for a huge game of tug of war
That's a fabulous game idea, Julie. Team Necklace will have to wear their favourite necklaces while Team Scarf can choose to either wear their favourite scarves or have them tugged!
This is a tuffy. I like both, but right at this phase of my life, I have just discovered scarves and am really enjoying the softness and color. So I going team scarves.
Is is too late to play? Scarves, scarves, scarves, scarves. I feel like I've been wearing scarves all my life. I do wear necklaces, but am always conscious of their weight like a foreign object, whereas I feel completely comfortable with a scarf on.
