If you look in my closet, it would be team cardi's. But as I read more and more on YLF, I am jumping to team jackets side. So jackets it is.

This tough, I love the look of jackets & blazers more so and I do wear them . But I'm much more comfortable in cardigans and therefore tend to gravitate to them more. I guess that means I will have to pick the cardigan team.

Jackets. Definitely jackets.

Jackets for sure. Jackets and dresses are the first things I look for in stores. They provide me that bit of polish and structure that between my crazy curls and less than perfect outfits, I often need.

I absolutely love the structure and polish that jackets can give. I have to be on team cardi because of the comfort though. I feel pulled together but still able to run after my monkey (my son not an actual monkey). I wore a cropped denim jacket today during Gymboree and felt really restricted. I like my traditional cardis a little heavier so they don't cling as much. My favs are looser (sp?), flowy-er cardis that are comfy but still add a polished look to an outfit. Maybe I'd be team jacket if the perfect one came along (cropped black leather with minimal detailing, like the one loralai gilmore wore in the gilmore girls)

I have really enjoyed my cardi's this season, but I'm a jacket girl at heart. I guess it takes me back to my roots in the career world. Loved dressing up and the versatilty of jackets then, and they work now to style up a casual lifestyle. Plus, I'm usually freezing so another benefit!

After some deliberation, I have to go with jackets. And this is a fairly recent realization for me. Cardigans are hard to fit on my uber-busty frame -- the righ combination of button placement, v-neck styling, length, material and sleeve style is hard to pin down. If I find it I badly want to grab one in white for the summer as a light-weight, portable option (I get hot very easily), but on the wholee I've realized that jackets are easier to fit and are less merciless in revealing my every curve.

Very interesting :0)

There are more jacket girls than I thought. Judging by what I see on this forum - I would have guessed that Team Cardigan was first choice. So why the discrepancy. Few of you post yourselves in jackets, but there are endless pictures of cardigans!

Aha, just on time to answer your last question too.

I like jackets more but wear cardigans so much more often due to the work place dressing norm, and the fact that it is more difficult to put a lab coat over a jacket then over a cardi. Plus, there seems to be some idea floating around where I live that jackets are for outdoors only and should be removed inside. Nevertheless, based on aesthetic preferences, I wohuld choose team jackets But in life, i wear cardis probably at least three times more often.

I would guess that a lot of ladies here have similar situations, especially with removing the jacket when inside.

Team Jacket! I don't care for the look of cardigans, especially traditonal cardigans, on me but have some that can be tossed in a bag for a layer of warmth if needed.

Jackets all the way. My ratio of jackets to cardigans is probably 4 to 1. At least.

In my fantasies, I'm a jacket girl. I love almost everything that jackets do for a woman's look. But in reality, I end up wearing cardis much more often. Soft and cozy and oh-so-comfy. So, for me, it's the battle between looks and comfort and I end up going for comfort, altho' i WISH I were the kind of girl who went for looks a bit more often.

Oh, another reason? I find that cheap cardis can often look cute whereas cheap jackets often just don't look quite right. It seems that a jacket done right looks better than a cardi, but a jacket done wrong shows its lack of quality more clearly and looks worse than a cardi.

I'm the same as Mac - in my dreams I would be team jacket, but the realitiy of finding a jacket that fits and is flattering for my body is so frustrating and problematic that a cardigan is just easier.

If I'm honest I'm team cardigan. Jackets feel to me like work clothes (they may not in the future but that's me at the moment), so that's how I wear them. I feel restricted on doing things - I feel as if they will get marked and require expensive dry cleaning!

Perhaps things will change?!

Team Cardigan! They are so much easier to fit, flatter my curves and are warm and soft.

In my fantasies, I am a Team Cream Moto Jacket from William Rast member.

In reality? Cardis. (Not the traditional ones. The open, flowy ones, Blanking on their proper name right now!) I wear those all the time.

Probably, I would look better in a jacket. Hmmm. Once again, Angie has got me thinking!

This is like asking me to choose between my cats: I love them both for different reasons!

But if forced to choose, I am undoubtedly Team Cardigan. They are my default choice for everyday wear. I have been wearing more jackets this spring but that's been more coincidence than anything else.

One thing I have noticed is that I am more inclined to wear a jacket on the weekend to dress UP an outfit, but I wear cardigans during the week to dress DOWN an outfit. When you wear dresses and heels almost every day to work, adding a structured jacket on top of that can often be perceived as too much in a business casual environment. But now that I am wearing more leggings and casual-style tunic/dresses, the jacket raises the outfit up to business casual.

Team Cardi! My workplace is very casual. I'm definitely one of the more dressed up ones there. I do own a couple of blazers but wear them very infrequently. I'm most likely to wear a jean jacket. But I love the softness (and warmth) of a cardigan and belting it ramps up the style factor.

Jackets! I am learning that I feel best in structure and jackets provide that. That being said, I do have quite a few cardis. At a certain point in the summer, jackets just get too warm. Even summer weight cardis are a stretch, but I can sometime tolerate them. At least, I'm apt to try so I can still have some layering going on.

I don't really post outfits so this is probably not directed at me, but I used to wear cardigans more when I was more "angular." When I was skinny and bony, cardigans gave me a softer look. Now I'm more squishy-looking with my rounded shoulders, big bust, and round backside. I like the sharpness and structure a jacket offers. I know that sounds weird but that is what it is. It's the same reason I prefer wovens now.

But it's really more about temperature. I don't mind wearing jackets under coats or wearing them indoors, but it is way too hot to even wear them on their own. Maybe not for Seattle but definitely here. I don't wear jackets anymore, but I have been wearing cardigans because they span the gamut of temperatures we are going through right now. I never wear the classic cropped styles anymore, though. It's all about the flouncy, long versions.

Although I have several jackets that I LOVE, in terms of practicality, being more casual and fitting in with my lifestyle, cardigans definitely get a lot more wear in my wardrobe (luckily I love them too).

Jackets all the way!!!! They just seem to fit my style and personality to a T, and it's just utterly amazing how they can instantly transform any outfit. There are sooo many fantastic jackets out there, and everytime I put a fab one on I feel more unique, fun, funky and more me.

I need more!!

I prefer the look of jackets on my narrow frame by a long shot- but it seems like I throw on a cardi much more often just for MOTG stuff and because I haven't fleshed out my jacket wardrobe. Still- I'm voting Team Jacket because I ASPIRE to being a throw-on-a-jacket-more-often person.

Also, as far as comfort and feeling confined in jackets- I found a casual knit blazer that I think is just as comfy as my cardis. Now I'm on the hunt for more.

I am now a jacket gal!
I love the instant structure and personality a jacket provides. I'm sure the same could be said for cardi's but they do not last as long and very few can be expected to hold up to being an investment piece, I'm guessing, because I have never really done a scientific survey.
I love a good stylish, sassy, outspoken jacket, and I love a more quiet demure jacket too. I love almost all jackets.

I am on the fence - what I like is the structured look of a jacket but my cardigans get more wear ( like Srujana).

So, I suppose I am team cardigan !

In my dreams it would be Team Jacket, but at the moment my closet would say otherwise. I definitely would like to remedy this at some point.

I also second what Mac said about quality. I'm very picky about jackets/blazers and to my eye a lower quality jacket looks so much worse then a less than stellar cardigan. And I don't have very high expectations for knitwear anyway.

I have few jackets because (1) I'm picky and (2) they are hard to fit, but actually if I look at my cardi collection, it's not so great fitting either.

Jackets, no question. There was even a time when I was considering giving up on cardigans all together. I like the look of jackets more, but I also have to think a lot harder when it comes to wearing cardigans. The thing is-- in my climate, there's a good chunk of the year where I wear neither.

P.S. Laura, I also want the William Rast cream moto jacket.

Cardigans! I wear them year-round. I have heavy ones and lightweight ones.

I've been experimenting with cardigans lately, but my heart is with Team Jacket. My bf jacket is my current love, but I'm looking for a denim and/or leather jacket too. Just waiting for The One!
