POLL: My new Soul-Sucking Beige ;-)

At least it was thrifted, but I think I'm a freak of nature in my attraction to beige (cream, ivory, etc. bring it on -- I am not discerning).

No sooner did I read Angie's blog about your 'worst colour in the world', and I fin myself standing in the Saver's checkout deliberating long and hard whether to spend the $3 on this soul-sucking (BR silk) skirt. I love the silk, I love the vintage vibe of the print/color, I love the fuller feminine silhouette.

I probably prefer the sleeveless options, but it may be another two months before its sleeveless weather here

so, dare I wear it tomorrow - done up the dark teal (not accurate in pic) sweater way?

Yay - it's okay to wear (aka: the soul-sucking beige lengthens your 'glow in the dark' leg line!)

Nay - you will come to your senses in a day or two and thank me

#3 is by far my favorite! Kinda bad-ass vibe going on with the black top and fun and flirty skirt I also applaud the gold flats. Gold flats will always be +1 in my book

Beige is not my best color...but i always pair it with black so it is one of my favorite neutrals!!

First of all, yay for Savers! I've gotten some great name brands there.

Second, I think beige is less soul sucking when worn on the bottom half. Hee-hee! This is a cute skirt and I luv how you've styled it in #4...so fun!

Please keep voting - there are many spring/summer days ahead where I would also be bare legged, and further enhance the beige experience.

I think beige is fine like this, when it's a background for some color! Also, I'm with AJ in that I think it helps when it's not up near the face.

I'm not crazy about the high contrast light belt with the teal sweater for some reason, but these are some nice options. I love the gold flats and the wedges with the skirt!

Sara, I for one love this skirt on you, and IMO number 4 is a 10+. The shoes and cardi are divine with this skirt. So I vote a big YAY.

I like #4. The contrast of the black in #3 looks too harsh to my eyes with your skin tone and hair color.

For me #3 was my least favorite but i like all the others! I don't think it's soul sucking because it's not near your face? Also, are you wearing bare legs already??? Or maybe hose? Just asking cause i'm still in tights.

OH, I love #4! The beige is not near your face, it's tempered by a nice bright floral pattern, and it pairs lovely with your bright tops. That skirt definitely does not suck your soul.

Sara -- if you are a freak of nature, then I am too, because I quite like beige. I like some beiges more than others, but still. And I love love love ivory, cream and bone. These are all elegant, classy colours to me! I was surprised by the many violent reactions to beige in the comments to Angie's post on the topic.

I like all of your outfits, especially the one with the black tank -- but I tend to prefer sleeveless, too. What a cute skirt.

#4 is too cute! And #3 is nice in a more sophisticated way. On my monitor this looks pale yellow and not beige at all.

cute skirt! Love the belt in 1 and 2, but would prefer with a lower contrast sweater. Really love the the colors in 5---your sandals tie everything together!

I like the neckline of the black top too, for summer!

Thank you everyone for the input I wore #2 and felt fine in it - even got a compliment from a student (they love random matching these days. . . ). I enjoyed feeling overtly (for me) feminine for the day.

Angie has the SS-Beige key: keep it away from your face. IRL the main beige of the skirt is SO close to my leg color that it's scary!

Janet - Yeah, the belt is stark, but in my closet I might try it again with brown (also in my closet).

Nicoleb - the pics were bare legged, I actually wore nude microfishnets. It was 50-degress that day and I managed fine - hooray!!
Nicoleb & hbaer - the shoes were from Goldenbleu - right before they went under. I stocked up and got these platfroms and another monster 5" platorm wedge pair among others. These will probably see some action this summer, the others are bright gold and must only peek out from under flared pants!!
