Dear Fabbers, I wondered what you thought of the attached? I was inspired by another post to go into Poetry, and try these silk shirts. It isn't a style I would normally wear as I think I would need wider shoulders and a larger bust to carry off.

So
1 - not for me, collar too near my chin(s)!, colour a bit strong
2 - navy better, but some how the open v neck doesn't seem to sit right. Good colour, but I have a navy silky round neck
4 & 5 - not a colour I would wear, but I was thinking would look elegant with long pearls and either black or navy.

So, I think I may go for the grey, if you thought the colour was good.

I am going back today to try the camel colour.

I like the grey on you but imagine that the camel may be a stunner with your hair. Too bad the navy did not work out. It looks like a wonderful color on you. Are your eyes blue?

I am not trying to dissuade you, but you don't seem to like this style on yourself. At least, your post seems to imply hesitation. I would try other styes and colors.

I love the grey one, too. I love this type of blouse as well but I have square (though not broad) shoulders. I can see how it might feel "off" if your shoulders slope -- it would depend a bit on the fit and how "loosy-goosey" it is.

Thank you all for your thoughts. I will follow up with a more detailed reply later today. In the interim this is the camel colour, which I really like.

I'm still not quite there with the neck line, and would need a different camisole, but I really do like the style of the rest of the blouse.

oooh -- yes! The caramel is it! The slight warmth in the color harmonizes with your hair and skin, and the depth of color provides a contrast that makes your features pop and your skin look cream and lovely.

The neckline doesn't bother me -- it looks luxuriously casual.

That caramel IS a stunning color. I love caramel and black together, so of course I think it would be a fab addition to your wardrobe.
I wear this neckline style a lot - it's one of my faves. I will note that I find the ones that flop over, as this one appears to, to be annoying. No matter how much I love their look, I always end up not wearing them.
Obviously, ymmv.

Caramel is the winner, hands down. Great colour on you. I wasn't sold on the silhouette in the first batch, but in the right colour this looks absolutely stunning. Perfect with those wide black pants too.

I like both the caramel and the gray on you. The brown is the one they call "brown copper," right? That's the same one I ordered, but it shipped from Belgium, so it might be a bit.

I love the camel on you. It complements your coloring so well. The grey is more subdued but would be a great support piece with a bolder necklace or scarf and a navy jacket. Those necklines drive me crazy too, and I have broad shoulders and a proportionally larger bust. The fabric looks nice and drape, but maybe you should hold out for a cut you prefer.

BTW, I'm surprised you find the color in #1 too strong - it looks great on you!

Thank you Joy, my eyes are blue and I do especially like navy for that reason.

Sterling, thank you, I am coming round to this style, but I am slightly hesitant with it.

Skylurker, Suz, thank you. I think the grey is the one for me. Great phrase, loosy-goosey but again I am coming around. I think with pearls it will add structure.

I think for me the brown copper is a bit too strong. I have quite pale skin and it did feel slightly like the colour was wearing me! I have a lighter colour cable jumper and jacket, which I enjoy wearing. So I think may be the shade might be a bit too dark.

I am going to get the grey, have a play at home I think, and see about the neck. Thank you Angie for swaying my thoughts!

Oh my word. I NEVER saw the caramel. I love that too. Can't go wrong with the pearl grey or caramel.

Camel works, I still prefer the softer grey. And yes, the collar flipping open looks super annoying.
