I thought I'd put in a few comments on plus-sized jeans for a pear-shaped woman in case anyone else is out there searching.

I started looking for second-hand jeans as I know how awful the manufacturing of jeans is for the planet. I found nothing.

I then ordered and tried *a lot* of jeans. Yes, I ordered them. It was almost impossible to find a range to try in person. *shrugs* I'm used to it. I selected some retailing for well over $100 per pair on down.

After all of this, I found two brands that worked well.

No surprise, Talbots made great jeans for me. The curvy fit came to my waist, the fabric was substantial and still stretchy, and their new line actually keeps its shape. They retail just under $100 per pair, but Talbots regularly runs 30% off the store. I can also get away with not having the waist altered, so an additional positive.

The runners-up were Lee jeans from Kohls. Yeah, I was surprised. Not every cut worked, but they had *so* many to choose from that I was able to find a dark wash that came to my waist but still was straight leg as I hate tapered leg on me. I had to try them *all* on. Two of the same "fit" in the same wash and one fit beautifully, the other was returned. No idea why. It's Kohls, so I got 30% off their sale price and napped a couple pair of jeans for under $25 per pair. They weren't as nice as the Talbots jeans, and we'll see how they wear, but they felt pretty substantial for the price.
