After some debate over whether I wanted to duplicate boots, I ordered the Donald J. Pliner Devi 3 in olive. (I have the Devi 2, from 2 years ago, in black.) Not surprisingly, I love the way they look. The color is a dark shade of olive that I like to wear--my favorite neutral. The new boots feel a lot tighter through the calf, and also a bit tighter through the width of the foot, than my current black ones. It's been a long time since the black ones were new, though, and I can't remember how tight they were when I first got them. Looking back now, at the post where I shared the Devi 2 boots, I have to laugh at my comment: "I think my boot wardrobe is complete now!" Ah, how little I knew then!
I'm going to wear the new ones around the house and see if they loosen up. They already do feel better after an hour or so of wearing them while I sit around. If they become more comfortable, I'll try styling them with some
outfits. It's awfully hot right now to think about that, though. (We
don't have air conditioning, since we have about two weeks of hot
weather a year here.)
Meanwhile, here they are, unstyled, with what I wore to work today. Not great photos; dark suede boots are hard to capture. (You can tell I lightened up the first photo quite a bit--the dress is very washed-out looking.)
Thanks for looking! I welcome any thoughts you have about these boots for me.
P.S. added pics with fall/winter styling (3-5)
